Evening Yardies!

Evening Family! I hope everyone had a blessed day! I was not on much today...my job gave Den and I a wedding shower. We are getting ready to head to the Keith Sweat & Friends concert tonight...how ironic since I straight clowned K.S. for being too old to still be in the game but the tickets are free and we're going with another couple so what the hay, huh :whistle: LOL!

:lol::lol: Glad you enjoyed the rest though!

So my famlily has been in turmoil since my granny past.

Everybody is falling in and out and just acting so stupid.

I'm sorry you're going through that. It sounds like everyone is trying to deal with the loss & not adjusting so well....hopefully in time things will get back to normal.

GIRL......I know you and I need to get together!!!! I was doing the money dance earrrrrrrrly this am (cause I waited up to check my bank balance at 12:30am) I love my gubament savings account!!! I found a rt tkt to JA for next weekend for under $500 and I am using all the willpower in my body not to press the "buy" button. Next Saturday is Michaels birthday and I would luv to surprise him.....

DO IT! :yes:

Bwoy friday night caan come nuh fasta :dance:

:dance::dance: Dancing for you KJ!

That's exacly why I barely go out with my sis and 3 kids coz she be talking ;bout split the bill in half, #######?? It's 1 of me and 4 of her, ppl got some nerves.. But youu gotta love 'em

:angry: CHO! I don't play that game. I put down what I owe including tax & MAKE IT KNOWN! Then after the slackers pick up their portion, I leave a tip for my portion so it can't be included in paying the bill.

Jamerican queen, you're nice. I would have been HEATED if my family did that too me.

ME TOO!! :protest:

GUESS WHAT!!???

I got a phone call from a friend this evening... she says "there is a white pickup truck at an auto body place on such&such ave"..... soooooo I still have Louis' co-workers truck so we head on into Portland to check it out....

IT IS THE TRUCK THAT HIT ME!!!

My friend just happens to be playing poker with a guy that works there and of all autobody places in Portland Maine... THATS THE ONE THE TRUCK SHOWS UP AT!! It even has my paint on it. So I took some pics and went straight to the police. The cop was pretty impressed! LOL. It IS a company truck. From a local oil company.

This is so awesome! Hopefully it will get me some $$ for a new car. So excited! I have to thank you all for prayers... cause God knows it worked!!!

Oh Cat, I feel so relieved for you. I pray that justice will be served! And I hope the MFer loses his job when his company finds out what he did!!

Good morning to the yardies, this is the day the Lord has made and let us rejoice. I have three days to go before I leave for JA. I cant wait til I actually depart from Atl heading to Kingston. The Lord will go before me and provide.

Congrats Myjam.....JA soon come! :thumbs:

Not a happy camper today looks like I'm going to have to go to court about the guy that tried to rob me last month...

I know it's a hassle but I applaud your courage in all circumstances of this incident! From knocking his rass out to doing what you have to do to make sure he pays the consequences. More people should be like you!

Okay...this morning I got to work at 6:30 and went into the restroom -- someone left a pregnancy test on the counter (YUCKKKKKKKKKKK) -- and whoever it is -- it's a POSITIVE

:blink:

:rofl::rofl:

Gross.....but HILARIOUS! This stuff only happens at your job Lawny! :lol:

LMAO - That reminds me of the time I directed the vocational program - we had all kinds of therapy balls / mats, etc.. - came in one morning and found a used condom :whistle:

Now THAT is really just NASTY! You had to take the dyam thing off....and that couldn't be done in the restroom because??? :bonk:

Quanna my husband don't either...he's always saying DEM FI TAN OUTSIDE

:yes: Mine too....except for maybe a well-trained puss.

Mrs. P -- u lucky -- Belly is a mellow yard man cause trus mi a few weeks ago we housesat for my old boss and her house is huge and she has 3 labs and they're very playful, I was fixing their food and all I heard was "WAH DI RASS" -- they were trying to jump on my husband and he was standing on the back of the coach...I kept saying they just want to play. It was worse when I told him that people have to pick up the dawg cakcak or they have to pay a fine...he just shook his head n said, pick up who fah sh*t u massah madd

My heart is feeling a little heavy today too. Today makes 8 years since my grandma passed. She was a feisty lil lady I tell ya! :lol: I miss her so much :((F)

:luv:(F)(L)

I was so congested this weekend I couldn't breathe! Hubby was nice enough to record me snoring just to prove it to me. I just wanted to :bonk: him!

LOL! We keep joking with eachother about how we're going to record the various things we say in our sleep & the snoring!

YES he recorded me with his phone. And played it for me first thing this morning!!! I said well it doesn't sound very loud and he informed me that he turned it down.

You are right A...payback is coming!

I say do what me & a girlfriend did to our passed out guy friend once. While he was passed out sawing logs in the chair, we got the idea to record him on her answering machine. She put the machine up to his head & we recorded for a good half a minute. That was her message for the longest time & we cracked up every time we heard it! He called us 'dicks'! :rofl:

Guess she is dyslexic and you didn't trick her for a minute.

Or she's just saying it the Jamaican way....like how 'film' is 'FLIM'! :yes:

So I have a serious question for e/one.

As things have moved and stalled and moved again, and thru all the issues, drama, tears, fights, pain and all... Im sure we all have similar stories and trials. Question is.. would you do it all over again? Or, knowing what you know now, would you run like hell.

Im sometimes 50/50 on this. I love my husband, but getting to where we are (and we arent even there yet) has been a ride- and sometimes downright painfull. I dont regret marrying him! Dont regret loving him.. but sometimes I regret meeting him. Is that bad?

No, that's not bad & as you can see from the responses, you are not alone. I for one don't think I'd go through this process again. I'm not sure I'd get married knowing what I know now. Of course, I'm PMSing so ask me next week & I might have a different answer. :innocent::whistle:

Its not bad because I sometimes have these same feeling. I love G to death but adjustment for us is not always good. Some days I want to scream at him (which iI usually do) and some days I just want to love him up. Its not easy when they leave everything and come here and have to wait to start working and then they get bored from being at home. I would do it again if I had to but maybe I would do some things alittle diffrent.

:yes::yes:

I don't plan on marrying again if this doesn't work. I believe in "til death do us part" :devil:

I love hubby and I needed to experience marriage just once. I am going to "make it do what it do" as A would say, but if it doesn't work, this is it for me. Not alot of fight left in me.

You echo my exact sentiments on this Mrstee! I'm too old to fuss with it again.

atsleumas -- I didn't spell you name wrong, I just typed it backwards -- I was trying to see if it spell something different...

Okay, someone was using my office and my PC while I was gone and it smell like dead ARMPITS in here

:lol: There was a method to your madness!

:rofl: What is it with people & their bodily processes at your work place??? If it's not the geri curl flat top or the pregnancy test, it's dead armpit stankin people! :wacko:

I basically feel the same way you feel. I love this man to death, most perfect match I ever met but this process can drive the most sane person insane. If there's anything I could change, I would've marry in Jamaica (I'm dying to have a beach wedding!). That way we'd have less paper work to do when he comes and I wouldn't have to worry about having a wedding on a budget here.

But I could not imagine marrying my love and having have to leave him there...

So would I do it over? Absolutely not!

I so appreciate that kind of honesty & I can say the same....I wouldn't do it again.

OMG. Hubby made that the other day and it was the most digusting thing I've seen in minute. Everytime I open the freezer I have the baby fingers looking at me. My brother opened up the freezer the other day and they fell out. He was like #######!! :rofl::rofl:

:rofl::rofl:

I'm w' you on that 100%!

Me and my boss was discussing "what if it doesn't work" and she joked around (atleast I thought she was joking!) and said I should try dating women. Then she looked @ me like a piece of chunky beef. That's when I snatched my check and bounced. In the back a mind I was like "damn bipolar, 40 add year old lesbian byatch"

:blink::rofl::rofl:

I would definitely do everything all over again. I feel like when God has made someone specifically for you, you should go any length to be with them. When I was dating people would think that I was crazy because I would pass over some awesome men. The problem is that there was always something missing. Being a wife is the ultimate calling (assignment) by God so I refuse to settle with someone because the road seems easier or to gain approval from friends/family.

Wow, that is an interesting & enlightening perspective on the matter. I never really thought of it that way before...thanks.

I don't know if you new VJ ladies know this or not but I was married before...to a Jamaican and yes I went through the entire process before with him. I didn't file the K-1 we were married so we went the other route. After we broke up I said I will NEVER marry again. NO ONE...American, Jamaican, British, Canadian...you get the picture. I continuted to take my daughter to Jamaica to see her grandparents, Aunts, Uncles etc. My husband now was always around because he ran with Marley's family and if I would go out to a club at night he would be the one to take me. Our relationship grew over the years and eventually I gave him a chance and I am very happy I did. So I say to you ladies if it your marriage doesn't work out...NEVER say NEVER! Just my 2 cents because I was one that said NEVER again.

I didn't even know the whole story Dillon! Thanks for sharing.

Girl. I can't stand nosey co-workers..You are so like me because I would be 10 months pregnant and still walking around like ain't nothing wrong. People kill me with the expectation that you have to share your personal business with them. People were so shocked when they found out I got married...I'm like since when is it a requirement that I have to make an announcement..I don't talk to ya'll about personal stuff on any other day.

People still don't know & are shocked on occasion here at work when I mention I'm married. They seem so surprised that I was so quiet about it.

no like in terms of food, drinks, music, reading material etc

when i read lady c's question it brought back something i saw on fb over the weekend

i'm just wondering if you guys ever feel pressure to create a mini jamaica in your home, esp when you aren't originally from ja

do you ever feel like it's one sided?

No pressure per se, but I do like to provide him with as much 'home food' options as possible. And I also listen to plenty of Jamaican music so that helps too.

But yes, sometimes it does feel one sided. I don't really feel like I can go to see concerts or out to restaurants that I like & he doesn't anymore. I'm going to have to adjust my thinking on that & do some things by myself again to enjoy things only I like.

I don't think we create a mini Jamaica in our house but I do think it is important to have the things he likes to eat, listen too and read around. I wouldn't expect him to be here and not want to enjoy all the things that he grew up with. He already gave up so much just to come to the US. So if we can find those things I surely will make sure he has them.

I wouldn't change a thing about the day/the way we met each other, the chase (took him a good 6 months) before I even talked to him, our journey and ESPECIALLY my interview. I found something different in my husband that I didn't find in other men I've had relationships with, I found FRIENDSHIP along with laugther. We appreciate each other and we show it and we love to talk to each other. I asked him what he missed the most about Jamaica and he told me the smell of my hair and my BIG smile when I came through the doors at the airport....I just laughed.

:luv:

Lol, girl we on the SAME page! hahaha...I think for me its because I have given, given and given myself time and time again. Im not going to say it was all bad, but how much can you keep giving? I love hubby to death honestly but Ive also learned something about marriage. There are times I want to be selfish because Im so giving. So if this doesn't work, we will just be great friends, as I am with ALL my ex's and just travel the world until I can't no more! :thumbs:

Maybe it's a Virgo thing?? That aside, you've just articulated what I feel....couldn't have said it better myself.

....or you don't want your man at home to know! :whistle:

:o:o True!

Hope you save me a spot and a drink right beside you cause married or not, I'm still going to make sure I travel...at least one big trip and two mini-trips per year mainly with my hubby but I think one girls'only trip once a year isn't asking too much, is it? :unsure:

NOT if you can afford it! If I had the time & money, I'd be making a trip every other month! :yes:

but kiss mi neck back...a ow u know dat Misses gwaan chat mi dankey ears a listen :whistle:

:rofl::rofl: Poor Ness!

we got an appointment letter for our AOS interview-

march 18th

:thumbs:

i was hoping our case would be sent to cali without interview- but ooooooooh well

just got to get all the paperwork together!

Congrats Just! Don't worry, the interview is not so bad. Just put together your originals & the new docs showing your 'proof of relationship' & you'll be good to go.

Finally got all our AOS paperwork off 2/1, we got the Noas and went in early for the biometrics. My hubby has about 3 job offers he cannot wait to get to work. From what I am reading it is normally approved about a month after biometrics?

Also does anyone have any experience or heard of anyone traveling on an AP before the AOS is approved. My husbands father is not well, and we wanted to go see him by the end of March. I hope it come through by then.

Hi Tenika & welcome to the yardie thread since I don't recall seeing you on here before (or it's been a long time)!

Congrats on getting the AOS started.

As long as he has his AP, the AOS doesn't have to be approved. Just don't travel without it. And if you search in the AOS thread for traveling on AP, there is some form people recommend to print out in case anyone tries to hassle him when re-entering the U.S.

Welp it is OFFICIAL!!!! He really got me now :wub:

OK all my yardies. Eric has had me running around today like a chicken with my head cut off. We got a lot accomplished today though. Went to DMV to change my name on my driver's license, we to Social Security office to submit app for name change. Then we drove to Williamsburg so we could complete his medical.

So all my VA yardies here is the scoope.

We went to Williamsburg because they had cheapest prices. I-693 was only $65, Eric needed one shot (a part 2) that was $88, total was $153. The RN was very knowledgeable about the K-1 process. Her office handles travel immunizations. So I would definitely recommend it to anyone that aren't that far away. Here in Richmond the cheapest was $185 without shots and others were talking about $250 + shots, not to mention they didn't even know exactly what we were talking about.

Here is her info:Niki Hoope, RN; 287 McLaws Circle, suite 2, williamsburg, va 23185; 757-220-9008 (o); 757-220-9027 (F); vaccinate@travelhealthofwilliamsburg.com

Just wanted to share that info with yall. Gotta go now. Got a long day at work, going to let him rub my back!!

Another Mama Jew on the way!!!!!
