i think my phone will be ringing off the HOOK, he is so overprotective (like i never lived alone before).. told me i need to make sure i keep the door locked!! CHO!

dw..GURL.. roger came in June.. i thought i was gonna smack him he complained about the heat so much!

my dad is a drug addict and thats why he gets sick like this and apart of the reason he has stayed MIA..

its such a shame.. my dad was top of his class, always had the best jobs, very clever and intelligent man, but his life just spiraled out of control with drugs..its SUCH a shame..

now it seems he has a bit of alzheimers, he is only 51, but he talks about things and ppl that are not there.. he is not very cooperative at times with the nurses.. my grand dad used to be just like this but he was 70..

my dad will surely need somebody in the family to take care of him to stay away from those drugs and assist him in general (if he lets them) his only brother is also on drugs and his only sis has 3 boys she's tryna raise on her own and has known about his whereabouts and dealings but never tried to help before so i don't know if she will now (not that she could anyway, he is very stubborn)

i am the oldest and i have the room for him, so it is highly likely it could be me.. i am uneasy about it of course, I know he will not be happy about this... its very hard for me to not take the things said and done personally..i walked out on my grand dad one night i was to sit w/ him cuz he was accusing me of stealing something from him (they do that alot) he was a 7ft tall man that was VERY upset, i was a lil scared and po'd a bit too.. i just wasn't blessed w/ the compassion sometimes..

it prolly will be awhile before my dad is out of hosp, but like always, im trying to figure out step b before i get to A..

So sorry to hear this Q! I don't blame you for thinking things through before you make your next step. Just continue to pray over things and you will see what you need to do! We all are here for you...I know we really don't know each other outside this board and all but that could very well be my father or anyone else's father so know that I'm here if you need an ear or just anything...I'm here.

DW -- when it got cold the 1st year my husband was here it got hives so bad he had to go to the ER -- I felt so sorry for him. I didn't even know that could happen. The docs says his skin is super soft (whatever) that means and it just needs to get adjust to the cold. He was fine by January. This happened in November 2008.

Wow! He hasn't had any problems since has he? I guess I need to stop ragging on Den so much cause he always says his skin is drying out due to the weather and I always look at him like he crazy!

MANNN, i remember marcel had me scared when he came.. him get sick fram di weather HAN di food.. i was thinking i had to have the hospital on speed dial when roger come.. LOL.. sorry tre, mi a joke wid ya.. glad marcel got thru all of that!!

So sorry to hear about your dad. I've had to deal with that with a few relatives. My aunt and her husband were both on drugs for years and they have now been clean for over a year.... Hopefully, he will wake up on day and decide it's time to change his life back around to the way it was. I'll be saying a prayer for you.

i was off from work monday for prez day right.. well roger was moping around cuz things are just rough right now for the kids in JA, he don't have much money to send, same story.. he even tried to sell his movado watch but couldn't get a decent price..

so i dreaded it, but i got up w/ him and went and did some applications.. (UGGGHHH i was kind of mad cuz it seems im always doing SOMETHING on my day off, i wanted to rest, but anyways, of course i did not show him my frustration, thats my BABAY!!!)

we filled out the home depot app, and they called us 3 hours LATER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the HR rep asked him when did he fill out the app and when he told her, she said she couldn't BELIEVE IT!! said that ppl usually take 6 WEEKS or MORE to get called back..

i told roger that the prayers of the righteous availeth much!!! the yardies had lifted you up in prayer my bwoy!!!

now you need fi go to church more than once a month!!! LOL

I think when it sates that it was picked up from the embassy it's because they had enetred the info in the system on the day of your approval but once it's ready the status will be updated.

If he's gonna pick it up the website will state that the visa is awaiting pick up as requested. Good luck, hopefully he gets it by Friday.

Amen Q! HD is a good company to work for. I worked at the corporate office here in Atlanta for about 3 years...chile some of the folks in them stores were making some serious$$$ per hour after they had moved up and been there for a while! Its a second income in yoru household... so I'm praying for him!
