Abu Dhabi visa issuance question. Probably should have asked this before I booked the flight, but whatever.

When the Abu Dhabi embassy site says: "Drop off before 10 AM, have it the next day after 2 PM," do they actually mean that? Or is it code for "Be prepared to spend a week waiting?"

Good question, I wish I had an answer for you. I hope they mean what they say.

Unfortunately, this entire process is like walking through a tunnel with a blindfold on. We all keep hoping someone will turn a light on, but we never know if it will be the right light to help us see our way.

I hope someone who can share thier experience will chime in soon.

Again, Good Luck!!!

This is the issue that I'm dealing with at the moment. The lady who interviewed my friend the day after me told her that it would take a week to stick the visa in her passport so she could have some one else to pick up the visa for her.

Some told me to give my passport to a travel agent to pick that up for me... but I just can't do this. I cannot trust any agent at all! So I'm going to take care of it myself...

It's so unfair!!!! Is sticking visa in passport that difficult and time consuming? Employees of embassies must be so happy with their easy jobs! I wish I could find a job in an embassy some day!!!:lol:

That's odd--when we were interviewed they were pretty particular about saying it would only take a day. Anyone who was approved was told to come back tomorrow after 2 PM.

God, I really hope they don't drag this out. That would drive me crazy.

I emailed embassy last night to learn about it. And see what they say in their Auto-Reply... I guess it varies from case to case - any way I'll wait for their reply because for Amin&Ani it took a week to get the passport back:

"Once you see your number on the website, please submit your passport any Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, or

Thursday at 8:00 am with any additional documents (if applicable), and we will inform you of the collection time that day (please allow 1-2"
