What exactly would be done with the kids? They're minors Simpson - yes, even in England.

For starters have the school address there behavior, which could be something as simple as suspending them.

There you go again Gene only concerned with one side of the story but I guess thats what you and your noble steed need to do to protect the good name of Islam.

On the basis of this article, Simpson I would hesitate to say that we even know "one side" of the story.

It excludes fundamental details about what actually happened in the classroom. It does that because the goal of the piece is to get people up in arms about the teacher being fired.

Of course it does, I already pointed that out, there isnt enough details. This changes nothing from what I said earlier or does it address what I said. Your only concerned with one side so go, go jump on your noble steed and protect the good name of Islam.

Simpson, the horse thing was a bad joke when you first said it, repeating it isn't going to get it out of the weeds.

That said, one would reasonably wonder how it is that you know from reading this article that the kids' behaviour was not addressed in some way by the school. It doesn't say that anywhere - so I'm not sure I understand why you're trying to split this into sides. Certainly nothing I've said indicates that I am not concerned by what these kids allegedly said.

Generally speaking though, you're not going to be suspended from school merely for saying something in class.

Now its just a case of he said she said and probably will always be just that because I doubt any of this was record. As far as if anything was done by school well I would think that if they had any proof that they did something they would of come out with it. Go back and read, the usually suspects are concerned with the teacher and what he might of done wrong and not the kids and what they might of done wrong.

It not just that they were just saying something in class. They were disobeying the teacher and then theres the content of what they were saying.

Which is why I said that on the basis on this article we don't even have one side. Wouldn't you rather reserve judgement until you have enough of the facts to justify your speculative outrage? Clearly not - that's why the piece is written the way it is. It's written for people like you.

On the bolded, as I said to you, the kids are minors. Generally speaking, there is always as much or more emphasis on the supervising adult than on the children, who are protected by law.

there's that, and any time really where an adult whose job is to work with children and they let those children get the better of them so easily, is really a sign that you don't do your job so well. i have far higher expectations of adults in that situation than i do of children, because they're, well, children. not because of what their ethnicity is, or what they're saying, but because they are children, and he, supposedly, was the adult.

Oh come on Gene, you playing games. No ones casting judgement. Just having a disscussion and I am concerned about both sides.

and there should be more emphasis on the adults, I am not stating otherwise.

and once again you only want to focus on what the teacher might or might not of done wrong. Good grief we all know that a adult supposed to act like a adult, I already mentioned that. The point being is that both sides of the accusation need to be looked at but the usual suspects come out and think they have to defend Islam rather than take a honest look at both sides.

How can you have two sides when you aren't in possession of even half the facts...?

As to casting judgment, that's exactly what you've done to me, and I didn't offer any specific criticism of the teacher ;)

yes, surely nothing short of waterboarding the little brats would be sufficient.

there are teachers who have to deal with real, actual violence perpetrated against themselves and the students whose care they are in charged with on a daily basis that handle those situations a whole lot more efficiently than this loser though. he sounds like an idiot, regardless of anything these kids said.

I could grant it makes little apparent sense that this teacher would bring up the subject of terrorism given the kids ages.

It would be nice if the VJ Muslim Defense League could concede there is something disturbing about these same young kids apparently having already been taught the terrorists actions were heroic. But that would mean they had to learn is somewhere, and that would mean admitting it was either their parents or religious leaders, which would mean they were learning to support radical Islamic ideas, and of course the VJ MDL can't do that.

And having said that, I am just as guilty as the radical Islamists who influenced these young minds to believe terrorists actions in the name of Islam are heroic...

Yes you are right, we should keep our focus on where the kids might have learned the terrorists of 911 were "heroes" because that would be uncomfortable.
