Teacher Claims He Was Fired After Complaining

A British teacher was fired from his job after complaining that some of his Muslim students were celebrating the Sept. 11 hijackers as "heroes," the Daily Mail reported.

Nicholas Kafouris, 40, who taught at East London's Bigland Green Primary School for 12 years, is suing the school for racial discrimination after he was allegedly forced from his post because he would not tolerate the remarks of his students.

Kafouris claims members of his class, some as young as eight years old, openly praised Islamic extremists in his classroom, hailing the terrorists behind the attacks of Sept. 11 as "martyrs," the Daily Mail reported.

Kafouris alleges the students told him they "want to be Islamic bombers when we grow up," and "the Christians and Jews are our enemies, you too because you're a Christian," according to the Daily Mail.

The 465-student school is predominantly comprised of ethnic minorities with a majority of students from Muslim families. Many students do not speak English as their first language, the paper reported.

Kafouris is suing his former school, its head teacher, and the assistant head for racial discrimination.

Mr Kafouris says the way he was treated brought on stress and depression, and that he was forced to take time off work. He was finally dismissed because of his absence, on April 30 this year.

Well I read another article on this and it looks like it was a case of bickering back and forth. Hes a Christian teacher and most of his students are Muslim. He told them Muslims have produced suicide bombers and they made comments about 9/11 and Christians. I dont think the way this teacher handled this situation was adult like and I believe these kids need more than just a time out if you know what I mean.

He was teaching in a primary school, the kids are age 5 through 11, what in hell was he doing talking to these young kids about suicide bombers?

His comments could of been the response to a heartless comment made about 9/11 by these pukes, who knows, sure his response wouldnt have been the adult response to it his situation but it seems he did go down the proper road too by reporting to the proper authorities.

yes, surely nothing short of waterboarding the little brats would be sufficient.

there are teachers who have to deal with real, actual violence perpetrated against themselves and the students whose care they are in charged with on a daily basis that handle those situations a whole lot more efficiently than this loser though. he sounds like an idiot, regardless of anything these kids said.
