Hi all from Mumbai:

I have filed DCF here in India for my wife...and jurisdiction is Mumbai...

Its been 15 days since we filed....my simple questions are:

- How do Mumbai send PAck-3, 4 etc...I mean by govt simple mail, regi. mail, courier....etc etc.

- How do you send Pack-3 back....I mean by govt simple mail, regi. mail, courier, etc..(Can we hand deliver in person)

Hey buddy, my fiancee petition has been recieved in mumbai consulate and my fiancee suppose to recieve her packet #3 this week, unfortunatly she missed the mail and the packet been sent back to consulate I belive, so which other way she able to file for K-1 visa there, and when is the medical extually required? do my fiance need to bring the affidevid of support application with her to the interview or send in with packet #3, or else not required because I also send the affidevit of support with my fiancee petition, i hope that will be work out?

Have you looked at their web-site? When my fiance received Packet 3 it was completely wrong. They sent stuff for a K3 visa. We e-mailed them and they primarily just told us to go to their site: We apologize for the error. We are sending the correct instruction package of K-1 visa to your fiancé today. Your fiancé may obtain a duplicate instruction package (Packet 3) at http://mumbai.usconsulate.gov/ivforms.html. Their web-site also gives good information and links for the other stuff such as medical and so on.

As I was checking into certain other stuff, I did find one important piece of information that I added on the Regional board: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=39495. This is in regards to when your appointment has been scheduled and the VFS office.

Good luck with everything! Mumbai can be a difficult consulate to go through, very slow in processing, etc., however I do think their web-site is one of the best.

Hey, i m not from mumbai, but wanted to suggest that u might want to email/call the embassy and enquire about your status. We filed at delhi about a week ahead of you, and my interview is in december!... haven't recieved my packet 4 yet, but got it confirmed through email and phone.

Thanks for the answer...and congrats on your interview date.....Yeah, I heard Delhi is fast.....mumbai kinda sucks :-(....ok..its ben month now....and no pack-3 yet....I sent email to mumbai yesterday...but they respond to mail after 3-4 days....may be I shd call them on Monday.....

Did you recv. pack-3 by regular register mail ??? Did you kept calling them since begining to even get pack-3 ??? Did you drop pack-3 in person or by mail ???

i recieved my packet 3 at the embassy when we filed the petition, mailed it back on nov3 thru VFS.

emailed them on nov16, as well called them up, and they told me abt my interview right away! and i got a reply to my email the very next day with all details like my case number etc.

remember to include atleast your name, date of birth, address in india, name of petitioner, and date of filing in the email.

I just thought I would "bump" this back up towards the front. It appears there are quite a few of us once again going through India with the files being at the consulates....interview dates scheduled....etc.....

I thought we could start using this again and keeping everything a little more handy for everyone to use.

my wife finished her interview at chennai for the k3 visa and was approved. It was a pleasant experience for both of us. It seemed to help that i was there with her, as they asked very few questions. They also let me be present through the entire interview and even asked me a question.

On Tuesday December 12th [in a few days] is my interview. K1 Fiancé visa. I will post and tell you guys how it all went. I'm just praying that all goes all right and we get to be together before christmas.

Congrats Sam....so when is the interview...what happened as you were trying to contact the delhi embasssy....did you get pack-4 or they told you interview date over the phone.....??

This is cool....as I said delhi is fastest...we are in mumbai applied a month earlier than you guys...but still waiting for interview and seems like it wud be in Feb. :-(

Well, after interview he will get the package and than comes to US and at the port of entry they will process his immigration....after coming to US, I guess he will recv Social sec card and perm resi card by mail within month I guess...

congrats. Mumbai interview list for Jan is out and we are not in....sooooooo...we will check back for feb.....

we got case no and we have sent pack-3 back to them.........but Mumbai is one of the loaded consulate in India....delhi rocks I guess.....good luck to you guys for interview.......
