Ammonia works pretty well on water-stained glass shower doors. It smells (even the lemon scented kind) but is very cheap.

I put vinegar in with the detergent when I wash the guinea-pig fleeces; really reduces the smell, far more so than detergent alone. Again, also very cheap!

Otherwise, I am a slave to Windex. Can't get enough of the stuff! I go through at least a bottle of Windex and 10-12 rolls of paper-towels a month.

Anyone have any tips for getting stains off melamine? I made the mistake of using a bright red envelope as a coaster once...

I have not! But I have baking soda (and toothpaste) so I shall give those a try.

If baking soda doesn't work, try a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. I have been astounded by what stains they remove, including cherry Koolaid.

I had a lot of beer last night at a bar called the Golden Gopher. I might use the Swiffer today.

Nah, the Swiffer is still too loud for a hangover. dead.gif

I adore the magic erasers. They really do the business. Also, top tip -- generic ones now available at the 99 cent store (saw them recently).

I've recently started using Bon-Ami powder scrub instead of sprays on my stovetop and sink. 100% natural and works better than anything else, and a container lasts a long time.

IK HOU VAN JOU, MARK

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!
