I think milk thistle is good preventively too.

I'm not sure I've heard of Berocca tablets. Maybe I should have my mother-in-law send some over? (She's an avid fan of wine---pretty much any kind--preferably in the big bottle.)

Claudeth doesn't worry about household times, she is too busy playing Soriety House on face book

Looks like it's down to you, my man. Do you know how to make fondue?

Berocca's good, but if you get her to send it over, tell her to throw in some Resolve Extra. Take it from this gin-swilling housewife: there is NOTHING better than Resolve Extra, a Pot Noodle (Cup Noodle will stand in over here) and lashings of Coke Zero upon waking. Whatever they put in that stuff, it is 10 times better than Alka-Seltzer. It MUST be the Extra formulation for optimum results. Your choice of Cup Noodle flavour.

How do I remove tarnish from silverware? I've got a silver tray that is horribly tarnished. None of the polish compounds I've tried do a darned thing. Suggestions?

Definitely don't wash it in sulphuric acid - that will make the tarnish even worse!

Try an 'electrochemical reduction' technique:

Old silver is often tarnished by a thin layer of silver sulfide that appears as a brown color. The silver sulfide can be electrochemically converted back into pure silver if a negative charge is applied.

To do this, first make a solution of equal parts baking soda and table salt (NaCl) and adding enough hot water until they dissolve. Then simply place a silver object in the solution and contact it with a large piece of aluminum foil. In a short time the silver will be restored.

This process occurs due to electrochemical reduction of the silver sulfide to silver.

I used to store my brown sugar in one of those metal storage containers that clasped shut but my brown sugar would go hard in a matter of weeks.. I then started storing it in a washed out margarine tub and the brown sugar stays good in there for months...

8 to 16oz of Gatorade before you go to sleep. Fights the dehydration, wake up with no hangover.

I so agree and if you don't have Gatorade, then drink water

Also, sounds ridiculous, but a big eraser works too. As in a pencil eraser. Works on silver jewelry as well, but it has to be sterling silver. I have no idea why it works, but it does.

Toothpaste (the paste kind, not the gel) works well removing tarnish on silver jewelry...not sure about silver trays.

Were you going to post a helpful tip about how to protect one's nethers while frying food naked?
