One witness, who declined to give her name, said a man walked into the Jewish Federation building with a gun, said he was upset about what was going on in Israel, then opened fire. After the shootings, the man said to call 911, the witness said. The witness said the man identified himself as an American Muslim.

An interesting excerpt from Islam Q&A, which may give you a glimpse into the mindset in which this act took place.

The Jews distorted the religion of Allaah, killed the Prophets and disbelieved in Allaah. They are plotters, conspirators and traitors. They are partners in the destruction of some nations’ economy and the spread of corruption among the Muslims, and other evil actions.

[...]

How can the Muslims not be happy when the Jewish invaders are killed?

[...]

...Allaah will grant us victory over them and cause us to prevail over them, as it says in the hadeeth: “You will fight the Jews and prevail over them, until the rocks will say, ‘O Muslim, there is a Jew behind me, kill him.’” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 2925; Muslim, 2921.

And another one, also from Islam Q&A:

Jews are people of treachery and betrayal; it is not possible to trust them at all. Jews are people of treachery and betrayal; it is not possible to trust them at all. Their current conduct bears this out...

Ok, the story has changed. The suspect is no longer an American Muslim but a Pakistani.

Sources told KING 5 the suspect is a 31-year-old Pakistani man with a criminal background. He is from the Pasco but his citizenship status or how long he has lived in the United States is unknown. Also unknown is what sort of criminal record he has. Officials are on the way to the Pasco to interview his family.

I said it was awful.

By awful, I meant this definition, Charles

aw·ful

ADJECTIVE:

1. Extremely bad or unpleasant; terrible:

Finding something terrible generally means you condemn it. Since that obviously wasn't clear enough for you, I condemn the shootings and the killing.

NOTE: You yourself have neither condemned or expressed sadness over the article. Instead you found another opportunity to poke at other VJ'ers. More lovely behavior from Charles (F)

if you say so. to me, awful is someone's dog getting run over. this story, in my opinion, rates as a tragedy. one nutcase with an agenda....

so that's one person we'll say has condemned it. now where is the rest?

In some perverse way I think you actually enjoy these stories because you think it proves your "point", as evidenced by your immediate reaction of addressing other VJ'ers than the tragedy itself.

what i enjoy watching is the double standard at work. hordes of postings about this or that along with a great outpouring of outrage as long as it applies to palestinians. when something like this happens to some jews in the usa, how many of those drumbeaters are here expressing their condolences and outrage? so far, just you.....you must be the designated mourner. did you draw the short straw?

Charles,

You seem to make a lot of assumptions so I am going to make my points of view very clear.

I unequivocally condemn ALL attacks on civilians - regardless of the race/religion of the person doing it. I also am saddened any time I hear about the death, especially a brutal or cruel death, of a soldier; however, in the context of a conflict, I believe soldiers are fair game.

I don't agree that Israel is tactically avoiding civilian deaths. People can argue this day or not, it is a matter of perspective.

I also don't think that because someone supports Hezobollah, the are blood thirsty. I think this is an oversimplification of things. I think the mainstream media has largely overlooked the social arm of Hezbollah. Hezbollah has provided schooling, medical care, collected garbage and provided other social services to its consituents. Do I think these deeds make the bad ones ok? Of course not! But I think as with American voters, many people vote according to their personal interests. Not every person that voted for Bush agrees with the war or specific actions by our military. Many, if not most, people vote based on issues that touch them more personally, taxes, the so-called moral issues, rather than how their vote will affect people in other parts of the world. I think it is the same with the Lebanese. Who are the Shia going to support - the people that they fought for more than a decade in a civil war or the people running their hospitals, schools, etc. Hezbollah is still getting the people in Southern Lebanon much needed water and supplies. Again, this is not an endorsement of Hezbollah. My point only is that a Lebanese person who is supporting them is not necessarily supporting them out of bloodthirst for Israelis or the United States, just as an American supporting Bush isn't necessarily supporting him solely for the war. I have sympathy for these people and I think their deaths matter and are important and they shouldn't be eliminated because of how they voted. I object to the generalizations that a vote for Hezbollah means the person should die.

Is another way to boost your post count by picking apart every word that anyone from the ME/NA forums says. Sadly you have not contributed anything to any of these thread except for your childesh humor and snide remarks.

What is aweful is that you can't even take 1 second from your day to make a serious post, instead you feel the need to follow us around and nit pick. There is nothing wrong with using the word aweful and I guess you are running out of things to harrass us about so now your want to choose the words we use to make our posts. Get over yourself Charles.

I am not spokesperson for the "brethen" nor do I necessarily agree with them 100% of the time, although we do agree quite often. When I disagree with them, I voice it, and they do the same - which I am sure you have witnessed plenty of times in the ME/NA forum. I don't expect to see eye-to-eye with someone 100% of the time simply because we marry men from the same general part of the world. Sheesh, I don't even agree with my own husband 100% of the time. However, I think the common experience of traveling and spending time in the Middle East, knowing Muslims on a personal level rather than just what we see on television, gives us somewhat of a shared, common experience.

First of all, I haven't done anything to Shon. I defended myself when my name was slandered. GET THAT STRAIGHT, if you continue to acccuse me, you will be reported as well

Post counts don't matter huh? Is that why you are always on the top ten? Over 3500 posts since you joined on March 26th and you want people to believe you don't care about post counts!

You nitpick everyone! All your posts are lame one liners that you got out of a book or stories you can't even link back too! When you have something of any intelligence to say, let me know and we can talk, until then....I have nothing more to say to you.

accuse you and get reported. lol. that's rich.

prove i'm always in the top 10. go ahead, try :D i'll hurt your feelings as i do a screenshot every day of such. go ahead. make my day.

nice that i nitpick everyone. maybe i learned too well from a few around here. i wonder who they could be?

i don't post one liners out of a book. unlike you, i can remember jokes. you do have a sense of humor, don't you? and i can link stories, just today i didn't on one story. surely that's worthy of crucifixion. oh my! call out the dogs, let's have a witchhunt!

perhaps i should report you for slander too

now run along little girl. i grow weary of your temper tantrums.
