Easy girl, your face is getting red.

B-)

Of course, you can tell what mood I am in. Well done, that's a remarkable skill.

I would like the president of the USA to be a figurehead rather than a real political figure, then she might do quite well, although personally I'd prefer Tyra.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Careful Cleo, PDS is dangerous, it feels good at first but <PALIN DERANGEMENT SYNDROME > will eat you up from the inside.

I'm just trying to be a friend here.

You are barking up the wrong tree. I mostly find it hilarious that anyone takes her seriously but should she win the presidency, I would not be upset, it would be comedy gold. I embrace it.

We will see if Palin can actually pull the wool over everyones eyes. She is actually just another RINO. She is endorsing Perry here in my home state. Someone who is serious about the Tea party would never do that. She does have years to try to polish her act though. If the Neocons want the whitehouse they need to do way better than this MILF.

That would make it the most populous state. That would make it the biggest state by population. It doesn't make it the biggest state in the nation. But it sounds good to people who are stupid enough to believe it so enjoy your delusions.

Uh. Yeah. Whatever. You want me to say "most populous" instead of "biggest"? Fine. Done. Happy now?

The interesting angle to all this is, a year ago, ALL of us were certain Young Barack was certain to be a two-term president..... now we are grappling over, the person best qualified to replace him in 2012.

I wouldn't say that. Not just about Obama, but about any newly inaugurated first term President. 4 years is a lifetime in politics, and nobody can predict the mood of the country or the issues of the day that far down the line. I wasn't certain last year, I'm not certain now, and I won't be certain until election night Nov 2012 about his prospects for a second term. Frankly - given the results of Nov 2000, it may take till Dec. and a Supreme Court ruling to really be sure.

Now, how is it my VJ buds can envision "Obamas turn-around" but not Palins?

Sure, I think Palin can run, and she can garner support, and be a serious contender. Anyone can. Politics is the art of the possible.

I don't like her style, I don't think much of her gravitas (or lack thereof). But I would never sell short anyone with sufficient ambition to make a go of it in politics.

BTW, did you like her crib notes? (Not that there's anything wrong with crib notes. Just a bit weird to be babbling about teleprompters when you need to use your hand as a memory device).

I really don't see what the CRIB NOTE deal is, my only question would be why she didn't write them on an index card.

Lets not confuse the two though.

WHen I used to play music I would have a list of songs I might want to do, though I would have all the words and music memorized.... over a hundred songs, however, the mind sometimes goes blank trying to think of a song of a song to do.

palins list seemed to be no more than a list of points she wanted to speak on.

In Obamas case he requires the complete text to be up on screen, not just "prompt words". (If we are going to be critical)

For an extended speech I think either method is perfectly fine.

Let's agree that Palin's usage of a memory aid is really no big deal - I think your assessment is fine. I wouldn't judge someone just because they want to refer to some notes when speaking, no matter where they choose to record their notes.

I don't really get the obsession with Obama's teleprompter. President Lincoln read the Gettysburg Address from handwritten notes written longhand on foolscap paper. Does that make it any less momentous or significant a speech? Think of the teleprompter as just foolscap notes for the 21st century. We have these newfangled things called Kindles today, you know. It doesn't lessen someone to read off a Kindle instead of paper.

For me Obama looks lame using a tele prompter for every speaking opportunity, just recently we all saw the whole thing set up at a elementary School.

One has to wonder if he is even able to "free wheel it"... while saying bedtime prayers with the kids?

No, I don't wonder. Let's say he does read "Fox in Sox" from a Teleprompter. Does that make him a less effective President? Honestly, who gives a **? What does that have to do with setting the priorities for our national agenda, and solving the problems Americans want solved by our government? Talk about a waste-of-time argument to be having.

The hoo-ha for me is that during the very speech in which Palin is criticizing Obama for using a teleprompter; she is seen referring to the notes scribbled on her hand. She just doesn't get it, nor do the throngs of supporters who blindly fawn at her seemingly impressive (and literally) off-the-cuff speech. Don't like her, don't trust her, never will.

Yeah maybe you are right, maybe reading 3 or 4 words (on her hand) and then talking for an hour "is" the same as being spoon-fed every single word of every single speech, no matter how big or small.

(Talk about Blindly fawning)

Actually, I think you are quite wrong, I think a lot of people do care as evidenced by the beating Bush took in this regard.

Part of the Presidents job description is, Presenting his agenda and expressing himself effectively to the American people.

When one speaks in clipped sentences as Bush did or is unable to speak at even an elementary school occasion without the whole Teleprompter thing set-up.... People notice, that just a fact.

As they say..."It's not everything but it's Something."

that's something i've never understood, why the left can't stop talking about her. i don't pay any attention to her, but the left seems almost like a group of stalkers the way they follow every move she makes.
