So, I was helping him get things together an fill out forms and stuff.... and I tell him that I needed his work history since 2000... and he proceeds to tell me that he doesn't remember, and that no one else around him remembers either.

Is there any way to find out, or are we royally screwed? :(

HELP! :bonk::help:

Well, he's had the same job since 2003/4, but before that, he doesn't remember. Well...he remembers some places he worked, but doesn't know if they were after 2000 or not. His memory kinda sucks anyways, and he'll be the first to admit that, lol.

I take it we're royally screwed, huh?

I doubt you're royally screwed. Maybe he could look at his tax returns from previous years to jog his memory?

MrsCat has a good idea there.

NOW I see what you mean, Frenzyheart. I sort of misunderstood.

Yeah, I was fuzzy on exact dates of old jobs too. Not super-fuzzy...but I had to really think hard about the sequence of crappy jobs I did while pursuing music production. :P

You don't have to put an exact date. If you put the place and then the year, that should be fine.

Just to add, I didn't put every job I've ever had. I just put my main 2. I've probably had at least 5-6.

Well, I sent a message to his dad about his back taxes, so his dad is looking those up for us. He also pointed out that he could call Canada Revenue and get a Notice of Assessment for the years. Unfortunately, he thinks they only go back six years or so. I put that here just in case someone else comes looking for information in the future. I'll post again when we find out how far back it can actually go. :D

EITHER WAY...

We're closer to getting it figured out! We've narrowed it down to the main jobs that he remembers; now it's just finding which years he worked there, lol.

Thank you so much for your help everyone! I don't know what I'd do without you!!! :)

I think you're right and that's why I had no problem just giving them my past 2 jobs, since one was for about 2 years and the other before that was for 5 years or so while I was in Uni.

Well, I was just about to post how I saw it said DS-230 Part I, and that the employment stuff was in Part II ... but that's not it. I am filling out the right form, but I wonder if only 5 would be okay, because then he'd just put down his current job that he's been at since 2003...

This is so confusing, and yet, it's so simple!:dead:

Did anyone else just put the year on theirs besides Sapphire? I'd hate to just do it and then end up getting an RFE for it or something, but we seriously can't track anything down, and he hasn't been able to get through to Canada Revenue. :(

I just attached my résumé. Might be a good time for him to draw one up. He's going to need it when he gets here, anyway.

That was smart. Damn smart. Why didn't I think of that?
