Hello everybody, Hey, this is the first time I hear that a person comes with the couple. The other spouse who is actually a U.S. citizen does not have nothing to do in the interview. Even more, the form N-400 is not signed by the U.S. spouse who you became green card holder. I think that was a not wise move at all.

That is exactly what happened in the movie, The Proposal, husband was in one room, wife in another, asked a thousand questions about each other and compared the results of the answers. Even a pesty USCIS agent flew out to Alaska from NYC to witness the wedding.

If I didn't hear about bringing in an electric bill with my wife's name on it from a friend that had severe delays because of lack of that, we would have been waiting. If I was in the room, would have challenged that, but you don't challenge the USCIS, you provide whatever they ask for and smile. You show me in any instructions or the M-476 manual where it says bring in a utility bill as evidence.

Sex never ever was asked, we can take a poll on this question. Even our marriage certificate states, not valid until the marriage is consummated, not even questioned on that nor did we ever have to perform that act in front of a judge. When my wife was called, stood up and introduced myself as my wife's husband, her IO didn't even look at me, but just turned away.

Another friend was denied because his wife's name was not on their home deed, they did go in together after the interview with a letter from his bank stating he had to refinance, pay closing costs to add her name. He also brought in a copy of our state statues where with no-fault divorce laws, house would be half hers anyway. But that was long after her interview, but they did accept his letter and and state statues as evidence so didn't require him to pay all that extra money to add her name.

The OP on this thread sounds like fiction, did anyone else even experience anything even close to this?

I know!! The instructions clearly gives the applicant a few options, it clearly states that all you have to bring is " ID, GC, Marriage Cert, Brith Cert or proof of spouse's citizenship, 3 year of joint taxes Certified.

I applied after 3 years of PR status married to a US citizen and specifically asked if my husband could come to the interview with me. I got a very decided 'no'. It is strange indeed that they interviewed the couple together.

Jackson, it sounds like you have the normal type of proof - try to be creative and find other types of proof. See if your Post Office or mailman will write a letter that both of you have mail sent to your address. Do you pay household bills out of a joint bank account? Circle the bills or highlight them on a bank statement with both of your names on it. Show an account for the bank or a credit card that lists expenses made by both of you - and addressed to the same address. Do you belong to a church that you attend together? Perhaps the Religious leader of your church can write a letter that he knows you are living together in the same house. Do you have accounts at places like gyms or video stores or box stores like Costco? Memberships in both your names work. Get affidavits from your neighbours who know you both live at the same address. See if your doctor will verify you are both listed at the same address on medical records. Do you have dry-cleaning bills that show men's and women's clothing listed on the same bill at the same address or phone number?

In 6 years - 3 and a half as a Permanent Resident - you can gather a lot of 'other' evidence that you don't think of right away that show you live in the same house. I am also curious - when did they tell you they would interview both of you? Was it before or at the time of the interview? Do you have any idea why they suspected you didn't live together before they interviewed the two of you?

You might want to clarify with your wife what she means by sex. Maybe you mean full intercourse but she also includes cuddling as sexual and that might explain her answer. Try to find the reasons for the discrepancies and then explain them as best you can.

Can we ignore the movie (The Proposal) on this issue. It is a movie, and the details of it are not realistic. USCIS will not waste two officer's time and money to interrogate two people about their sex life. This is possible if we go for interviews for ROC.

Don't take it too seriously. The important thing is that you do live together and you have a good relationship. It doesn't matter what that officer thinks. just submit enough evidence and you will be approved. Once you are, that officer will become part of your past that will slowly eliminate itself and disappear.

Good luck and keep the faith!!

Good words, I still think this doesn't make any sense.

Guessing by the way Jakson writes, he would have failed the written part of the interview anyway. Don't take this the wrong way, just a little humor :).

Jakson still hasn't explained why his wife was with him at the Citizenship interview in the first place, he might be talking about Adjustment of Status, then he should be in a diffrent forum.

Plus, if you had plenty of evidence, and the IO still denied you, there is a reason.

I'm just getting really anxious because of this thread, as it doesn't accuretly pertain to Citizenship.

Thanks

I think you are correct. If you assume this is an interview for AOS, then all the pieces start making sense. Because during that interview, they ask details of the marriage....

Perhaps Jakson's IO saw that movie and is getting way carried away with this cross examination, that frankly is unheard of. In this case, would contact your senators' office and make an inquiry. They do have the right to request more evidence but should tell you exactly what they want.

Wife was offended by her IO and asked not once, but three times if she was a prostitute. She just responded with a stronger affirmative no each time that question was asked. My comment is that question is in the N-400 and perhaps they have the right to repeat that question, but was no where near her interview.

I would have given anything to attend the general part of her interview, but was locked out just like any other USC sponsoring spouse. It doesn't seem fair to me as these documents are also mine and should be able to explain them as in essence, I am also put on the carpet so to speak and should be present to defend myself as well.

One thing about this country, individual rights are going to hell and the main targets for all these relatively new government agencies, won't dare touch a corporation with all of our attorneys present. We really got the run around about our misplaced files, but they wouldn't dare give our senator the runaround, his office got answers quick and while I was on the phone with his office.

And what are they doing with all the illegals in this country? Nothing, but when you apply legally, they have your name, this doesn't seem right. At least you applied legally, and should be given a fair shake. Having a big immigration law firm helps, used that during our AOS.

Wow Jaskon,

This should be the called the riddle thread, and i like it, who is going to solve this mystery first?

need to bring in officer Colombo.

Major point are:

1. Was this a Citizenship or AOS Green card Interview?

2. Why was your wife with you in the interview?

3. Does this case involve humans? or Aliens?

4. How much sex do you have with your wife? and what's your favorite style? :)

5. What's the difference in age between the two of you?

This should help solve this!
