I am filing a K1 this week but I know that I will be moving across town in the near future. I do not yet know my new address. Should I get a PO Box and use it for the process, or is this not acceptable? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

No you are fine using the address you have now. When you get your NOA1 with your reciept/case number you can go on the USCIS website and change your address. Hope this helps!

In theory, you shouldn't have any problems.....BUT, USCIS is notoriously bad at consistently and accurately changing addresses in their system. If possible, I would look at other options if I were you - have it mailed to your parents', for example.

June 4, 2009: Interview - APPROVED!!!

January 22, 2010: Bogus RFE corrected through congressional inquiry "EAD waiting on biometrics only" Read about it here.

March 15, 2010: AOS interview - RFE for I-693 vaccination supplement - CS signed part 6!

March 27, 2010: Green Card recieved

ROC:

March 1, 2012: Mailed ROC package

I am a fan of using a POBOX if you have ANY address issues.

So, get a PO Box prior to filing, use the PO Box for notices.

Luckily for you - once you have the NOA-2 - the 'current address' won't matter - the 'next' thing to file is the AOS package, after she's here in the USA.

FWIW, those 'government notices' are NOT forwarded on, even if you have a 'forward notice' in place at a post office.

You can 'play around' with getting the address change into USCIS, but that data system is so frickin broken, it's never updated consistently.

But - just make sure SHE knows the new address on interview day, ya? It might come up in the interview.

Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
