There are a few things that make me think there is something going on the the Omaha field office. Am I just crazy?

First, they called me when I missed my marriage interview, which, I have gathered is very unusual behavior for USCIS. Is it possible that they knew that I did not get the notice?

Second, I missed my interview because I did not get a notice in the mail, however, they said they sent it (in the phone call).

Third, I also did not get my EAD, even though they said they sent it December 28, 2009 (in the phone call). Online, it still says they ordered production of the card Dec 18, 2009.

Fourth, none of the activities they are telling me about are showing up on the case status (e.g. the case status does not say anything about them sending me notices).

Fifth, when I tried making an infopass appoint, it said no appointments are available. Why would no appointments be available?

It is possible that they have had some recent interviews missed and people are saying they haven't got their announcements. USCIS, however, will never admit that they might have been in error. The fact that you also didn't get your EAD indicates that there is a problem somewhere - either with the address USCIS has for you on file, or with the post office not delivering all the mail that is addressed to your address. Case status updates do not always update for notices. The update system is hit and miss - if you get an update it is good; if you didn't, it may not mean anything at all. Do you see the last date on your case status update? That may be different than the last action on your update which means they 'touched' your file even though they didn't make anysort of entry.

I would keep trying several times a day - and after midnight and before 7 am if you can manage it - because they only accept infopass appointments for a certain number of days in advance. Each day a new list of appointments will become available but they will be filled on a first come first served basis, so trying at several times during the day may help you connect to when those new appointments become available.

Good luck. You may wish to get your Senator or Representative involved. Also, contact the Post Office for your area and ask them if there is any mail that has been sent back. Sometimes, the addresses printed on the envelopes by USCIS get smudged and become unreadable. That happened to me and only a very conscientious postal employee who took the time to try and decipher the smudged mess allowed such an envelope to be delivered to me.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
