This story has nothing to do with religion and everything to do with corruption and abuse of power. But i guess it wouldn't be newsworthy if it was a muslim girl.

Dan,

The issue is injustice....Plain and simple.

For one, if it was a 12yr old muslim girl that got raped and murdered and no one would bring justice and sentence to the man that did it, yes it would be newworthy just the same...

and 2nd, if it was a 12yr old muslim girl that got raped and murdered and the man did get brought to justice, it might not have been on the news period.

Injustice happens everywhere all the time. What makes this story any different than the hundreds of other stories of the same?

Well, even though the young girl is dead... this stands out to me...

"threatened by thousands of lawyers - friends of the murderer - that promise to burn alive anyone who wants to represent the victim in court. "

You thought to comment on it and I responded?

I was pointing out that the religious context of the original article is irrelevant, and it probably would not have been posted if it had not been made part of the article.

Perhaps a reversal of the usual, in terms of religion? I got that.....

Cheers,

William.

BUt the story is a little more than that.

In this case the "entire Bar association (if you will), is not only caving in.. they are heading up the death charge to any one who simply follows the oath of their profession (i'm assuming they take an oath).

Quite a bit different than a judge and Lawyer on the take.

Not really. The accused as a lot of influence, and can get the bar association to protect him. Sure they should be following their oath, but corruption is not anything new, and besides, if everyone does it, there is no one left to turn to.

Here we have well educated persons en mass rejecting what we would call, civilization.

Tell me that line again how it is just -misguided youths with no hope of a future being manipulated by a warped minority.

Just wait till this stuff starts to dominate Europe.

We hear over and over how it's poverty that causes people to act like savages. I'm guessing that lawyers in Pakistan are not 'poor'.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

The bar assocation in the US isn't the same outside. I tell you what, if the murderer has power to control the bar association, what will the bar association do? That is exactly what the lawyer is capable of, he has friends in higher places. Corruption in those countries are far worse compared to the US.
