What exactly do they mean by Administrative Processing?

Hi Guys,

My fiance got 2 calls from the consulate. First call was to remind him to submit the pending documents, which he had already done a week back. The 2nd call was to ask him to submit the original document, and asked him about about his plans to get married when he gets here. The 2nd time the officer spoke to him she was very nice and said our paperwork looks good. Gave him the address to send the original copy to directly to the consulate. So, the documents arrived last week on Tuesday and then on Thursday I got an email to my inquiry that they recieved the original document, but our case was pending administrative processing. What is exactly administrative processing besides the background check? I mean what more are they going to do with our case. Both of got really happy that we were going to get an approval soon as they wanted the documents in a hurry and they were calling my fiance and updating us. Any advice is appreciated, and thank you in advance.

i am sorry to hear that ...but let me tell you that i have been through administritive prosesing for 5 mounth ...and i have not hear any word from the embassy ...the lawer told me that maybe i have no chans to get the visa ..maybe yes or not...coz they had to call before 45 days of interview date ...if they dont call that mean ther is a problem

so i would like to say to you that ..the most time of wating 6 mounth ..ok? and remember that there is a proplem withyour fiance or husband ....so maybe he will get his visaor he will not ..coz many applicants were denied after the administrative results.. its the most typical means of the empassies ...thats really hurts ...

finally i want to say that the would call you any time ...not nessesary 6 mounth ...ok?maybe today or tomorow or after 2 days ..maybe 5 or 7 or 8 or 1 mounth ..no one knows ...ap has no tome this what they told me when i called them ...

i hope that your ap will be short and they will contuct your fiance very soon

I think what lawer said is not true. I have see people 3 to 5 months in AP. So dont think that way.. relax and pray. Goodluck
