CVS "Minute Clinic" - good place for followup

This post may look like an ad, but I was a very pleased customer and CVS

was recommended by the Westchester Health Department as the best place

to get immunizations. If the government doesn't have a better alternative,

I see no problem in recommending these guys.

CVS store locator - check the "Minute Clinic" checkbox for one nearest you.

The one we went to was in Eastchester and the next closest was in Larchmont.

I noticed most of the minute clinics in operation were in UPSCALE neighborhoods,

because they don't take medicaid.

The clinic is open whenever the store is, but not every store has a clinic.

It seems the rich are not above getting good health care on the cheap.

I would like to see this thing catch on, as not every CVS has a minute clinic. They are already located in a pharmacy

which is a big plus in terms of drug supply. I can't imagine an Obama-Clinic doing the job better.

It will take a lot of business away from shyster doctors who charge an arm & a leg for a simple shot.

A nurse practicioner administers it at CVS.

No wait. They give a great online documentation of what was administered as well as the paper one they give you.

The visit detail (available online) is better than any doctor would give you.

Both of us were pleased with the experience. My 83 year old mom would love it too because there is no

wait compared to most docs offices and she has the patience of a heroin addict long overdue for a fix.

When they sent us the email "feedback" questionnaire I suggested that they advertize on Visajourney.com,

because members would get better results than they would from many of the other "services" advertised.

All the BS I encountered trying to get a doc (even from my insurance company) to do the shots was unbelievable.

I agree with you completely.

Me and my 7 year old son went to the CVS Minute Clinic for our H1N1 flu shots (my family doctor couldn't get any) and we were both done in 15 minutes. Only $18 each immunization (my health insurance has a $25 office co-pay)...

Thanks for the heads up on cvs. I hate the medical system we have now. We all know who usually gets stuck paying the higher medical bills. :thumbs:

I was lucky to get a "minute clinic" less than 20 min. drive from my home.

Unfortunately, not all stores have them.

I would have driven over an hour to get that quick service and have it accepted by my insurance.
