This ought to be interesting. I just dropped Veka off for a manicure and pedicure. Let's just say, the Asian ladies did not understand Veka's russian accent and Veka did not understand theirs. I was interpreting English to English. When I get back in two hours, it will be interesting to say the least. I'm hoping all goes well, but I forsee a trainwreck happening.

** USCIS.

Pieces of pure #######.

So they jerk us around for almost 6 months here....

Finally have my congresswoman look into it. They pull it out of a stack buried on someone's desk and finally get to it.

Now I just got an e-mail saying they are sending an RFE...

** YOU US GOVERNENT. ** YOU AND YOUR BULLSHIT.

I dotted every I, crossed every T, supplies ample evidence and every last bit of personal information they could ever need, quadruple checked it all, made copies of everything, and have been sitting here waiting since.

So now, no NOA2 after 6 mother fvcking months. Just a damn RFE which I will get in a few days to hear what bullshit they are asking for.

GOD DAMNIT!

Ok..... so, as Paul just mentioned, we are being asked for more evidence. So super mad right now. Last week we received our first "touch" We were so happy! and earlier today we received an email from Paul's congresswoman stating that our case has been looked into (apparently it was just sitting at the bottom of a pile  ) and that we should here something back within the next 2 weeks or so. I was overjoyed at this news today. A few hours later they send us an email wanting more evidence. So bummed right now. We can't even think of what more they would want. The one and only thing I can think of though, is the fact that my Father was not born here (is British) and he is not a citizen. I am however; born and raised.

Could anyone shed some light on this for us? Do you think that USCIS would want proof of my citizenship? We did't even think that this would be an issue, so we didn't include a copy of my birth certificate.

What else could they possibly want?

Grrrr.......

Yeah we sent in ALL that stuff. Letters of intent, numerous pictures that varied in dates, copies of boarding passes, engagement ring reciept, emails, reciepts to baseball games even. We did everything by the book! EVERYTHING!

We can't for the life of us understand what they could possibly want more of. Just have to wait and see what the RFE says.

Gotta love the bureauracy of it all though eh?:bonk:

Theres this one part that it seems alot of people have been caught out on...its some box about military that people need to tick...Im not sure what or why as Ken did that form and as it is he is military so it didnt so much matter to us....but I have noticed through out the VJ that alot of people have had RFEs and it has been as simple as that they just needed to tick this box asking something like are you not military or something...like I said Im not excatly sure what it asks or why you need to tick it or not...but its just an observation of mine that theres this one box that needs checking and it asks something about military....maybe it is just as simple as that....fingers crossed that it is.

Good luck.

that's ridiculous. Paul and Van, you guys sent in more then Joe and I did and ours went through fine. seems like someone on the USCIS end dropped the ball. but either way, whatever their request is likely something very small and fixable. being that it's the last of the february petitions, it will get pushed through upon return.

don't let this stupidity rain on your parade. keep your chin up and we'll keep you in our thoughts and prayers hoping the rest of your process goes MUCH smoother.

on a side note, i'm wondering if there are any other military couples out there going through this process. Joe has just received orders to report to a different state (Dec 10 2010) and i'm wondering how that might affect our petition process.

Okay, I joked about getting vacuum cleaner instructions in Russian. That came back to bite to bite me in the ####. I'm in Atlanta on business, we had the furniture delivered today, well she is cleaning after people being in our house. The problem is the bath mat in a guest bathroom needs to be vacuumed. Well, the vacuum tries to suck the mat up. My Russian and her English could not translate on the phone. I could not explain to her to take the hose off and attach the brush. I'm the idiot here. It will just have to wait until Friday. Weekend at my lakehouse was great, but she said I need to hire a cleaning crew. It is a lakehouse. Many trying moments in the past two plus weeks, but things are good. I will be my smartass self here in a few days. Just working and taking care of Veka takes my time.

Where is my midget?
