You can look on the back of the cancelled check for your case number to look it up online. It could easily take a week or more to receive your NOA1 in the mail, some people never receive it.

SWEET! I had no idea you could do this! I'm still waiting on my NOA1...

Hi Feb filers,

I would like to hear yr opinion about the following:

My american fiance sent the 129-F with his divorce certificate without any stamp or seal.

Now that he is about to receive the final certificate from the court in CT, do you guys think we should send it with a letter to USCIS explaining that we are adding it before getting a possible RFE?

Regards,

Ilana

If he had wanted to get married in CT between the certificate with no seal and the final certificate being issued would he have been able to?

General consensus on VJ is that you shouldn't send anything in unless asked for it, or it just gets lost. If you get an RFE, you have to return it with the additional documents requested.

But unless the first, seal/stampless certificate qualified him to remarry under CT law, you may have issues about his eligibility to marry. Not sure if the US has the same/ similar process to the UK, but here we have a decree nisi pronounced and then have to wait for the decree absolute. It's the absolute that authorizes you to remarry...

Just got home from a business trip and found my NOA1 in the mail. Now I have to call them. They mispelled my name. At least I did not have to find my receipt number on the check. At least there is March madness and then baseball to keep me busy for a few months. I just want to send good karma to VSC. Pick me, pick me.
