I have great news! My AOS & EAD were approved on the 11th & my AP on the 12th! :dancing:

Wow! Congratulations! That's very awesome. We got an RFE because I forgot to include proof of citizenship for my joint sponsor (apparently 3 years of tax returns + his social security number were not enough, geez) but it should be all good now. Happy Valentine's Day to you all, too! I woke up this morning to a very beautiful bouquet, my first time ever getting flowers on Valentine's, so I don't care how stereotypical it is, it's adorable. :luv:

Before Journey:

Met online in 2002 as friends. Fell in love in 2005. Got engaged in 2010.

K-1 Journey, January 2010-July 2010:

NOA1: January 29. RFE: April 21. NOA2: June 4. Interview: July 15. Visa in hand: July 20. POE: July 22.

July 24, 2010: Married in front of 150 of our loved ones on a beautiful, sunny day. Living happily ever after and oh so thankful that 5 years of a long distance relationship and 7 months of a visa process is condensed into one line.

Adjustment of Status Journey, January 2011-March 2011:

January 25: NOA1 for AOS and EAD. Feb 5: Bio appointment received. Feb 7: RFE. Feb 11: Sent RFE response. Feb 23: AOS transfered to CSC. Feb 25: Biometrics. March 11: EAD approved! March 19: Received EAD. March 21: AOS approved! March 25: GC in hand!

And we'll live happily ever after.. for the next 2 years, anyway.

That's great news! Congrats to everyone so far!!

Joe and I are gearing up to submit my AOS/EAD next month. Question, so I'm under the impression that the EAD typically arrives within 3mths of submission. So what's the average timeline of acquiring the Greencard? 18mths as mentioned here and there? And I thought I saw somewhere that once we've acquired the Greencard, we have to renew it in 2yrs time? I'm confused on that part.

Our Timeline:

11/26/1992 - Met in NYC (Drum & Bugle Corps) and dated for 2yrs

11/30/2009 - Reunited after 15yrs - Feb19 got engaged!

01/13/2010 - Visit to US and got Engaged (Home on Feb19)

02/22/2010 - Sent I-129F overnight USPS

02/23/2010 - Arrived at VSC, signed by D RENAUD

03/03/2010 - Received NOA1 Hardcopy

03/20/2010 - Visit to US for the summer

06/11/2010 - Received NOA2 Hardcopy (109 days)

06/28/2010 - Received Packet3

07/12/2010 - Sent Packet3 overnight to Montreal US Embassy

09/13/2010 - Packet4 received (61 days)

10/05/2010 - Medical in Toronto

10/26/2010 - Interview - APPROVED!

11/07/2010 - POE Lewiston

11/26/2010 - Married in New Jersey

Joe and I are gearing up to submit my AOS/EAD next month. Question, so I'm under the impression that the EAD typically arrives within 3mths of submission. So what's the average timeline of acquiring the Greencard? 18mths as mentioned here and there? And I thought I saw somewhere that once we've acquired the Greencard, we have to renew it in 2yrs time? I'm confused on that part.

From what I've gathered, yes, EAD arrives in 2-3 months but I've seen the greencard arrive a lot earlier than 18 months, that's for sure, probably closer to 3-4 months. They seem to be speeding it up on that kinda stuff lately. Anddd I think after 2 years you have to apply for removal of conditions ( http://www.visajourney.com/content/751guide ) so at least you have 2 years of no paperwork to worry about, just collecting evidence of a bona fide marriage.

All 3 of mine were approved in about 76 days. Just now waiting for them in the mail. The greencard is usually longer than the EAD & AP. Depends on if it gets transferred to CSC or if you have an interview etc. The greencard expires in 2 yrs, yes, but 3 months before it does you have to apply for ROC, Removal Of Conditions. I think that is the 10 yr green card.

The forms to filled are less but you have to get witnesses, bills together, taxes file together... a lot of stuff and is for ten years... is too much things Jesus!!!

Oh I am sorry i didnt write it well, it is a Job interview, i think it when well, the told somebody that they really like me, so i have hight expectations, i made them lough a lot, or is the accent? lol.

Loh:

i went to Elizabeth and unfortunally they dont accept walk-ins, at least that happen to another Visa Journey member so i didnt even try... Oh and they where really nice, try to get earlier than the time it says on the letter, mine said it was at ten, we got there at eight and there was soooo many people, but maybe on yours it will be empty, we never know, but i can promise you, they were really nice to me... and professional.

I got my GreenCard today!!!!! :dance::dance::dance:

Got it before I even got my EAD & AP. LOL!

Got my EAD card on the mail yesterday... now only the AOS, but let me ask this, the EAD is only for one year, is that i dont need it after i get my GC? because i dont see in the ROC anything about getting another EAD card or anything, just curious.

Got my EAD card on the mail yesterday... now only the AOS, but let me ask this, the EAD is only for one year, is that i dont need it after i get my GC? because i dont see in the ROC anything about getting another EAD card or anything, just curious.

Once you receive AOS you don't need AP or EAD for anything.
