This thread has gotten a little off topic.

Sleepy, do realize that if you do not have your visa by October you CAN NOT go and visit and get married.

In other words, you can't get married before you get your visa. If you do you'll have to restart the process.

I don't think this was mentioned and by your wording, I think you thought this was a possibility.

12/31/2009 - Marriage

07/21/2010 - AOS approved

08/04/2010 - Green Card received (and it's actually green!)

05/30/2012 - Sent ROC packet to VSC

06/08/2012 - Received NOA1 for ROC (Dated 06/04/2012)

You may want to eliminate or reduce some of the images in your signature as it is rather large.

Sleepy, this wasn't a suggestion.... it was a request. :)

Oh, and you may wonder why everyone is commenting on the glittery pics. There was a huge controversy on VJ about them not so long ago. lol

Hello hon,

I just wanted to write and give you some extra support. VJ is a wonderful community and during my process I found much comfort here.

I am from Brantford, Ontario. Pretty close to T.O.

I moved to New Jersey to be with my now husband and have been here for just over a year and a half. Wow, time flies.

I want you to know that this journey is a long one, it's frustrating, exciting, nerve wracking and totally awesome all at once. I'm bummed you used a lawyer, you could have saved yourself a lot of money as filing really isn't that complicated if you have a straight forward case. We almost used one but then I found this website and we filed ourselves and had no problems at all. That being said, if you felt more comfortable using a lawyer, good for you. I'm sure everything will work out fine.

It took Nick and I just over 7 months from the time I filed to the time I moved. In the grand scheme of things, it's really not that long. Looking back, I enjoyed the ride and Nick and I are so much stronger.

If you have any questions, just ask, we are all a helpful, knowledgeable bunch.

All the best to you and your hubby to be! Be patient, visit your fiance to get through the rough times, get all your paperwork in order, follow the guidelines on the site and it will be moving day before you know it.

Hugs

Laura
