Second K-1 (Fiancee Petition) approved by USCIS

It goes on to say .......... it has been noted this is your second approved I-129F petition and as such, your information has been entered in a multiple visa tracking database. Please contact the consulate with any questions about visa issuance or if I now would like them to forward the petition to a different consulate. The petitioner can file form I-824, Applicaiton for Action on an Approved Application or petition.............

So, I am a little confused -- First time when I had filed the K-1, my petition after approval from USCIS went to NVC. This time they are saying that it has been forwarded to the consulate. Has this happened to anyone else who has filed a second K-1 for the same beneficiary (because the first one was not approved by the consulate)?

Interestingly, I had called the NVC and they told me they have received my case from USCIS and will be forwarding to the consulate soon. So what's going on? If the files are physically dispatched from one agency to another, then how can my case be sent to two different places?

Please help me with this situation...........anyone?

Thanks!

Could this be a USCIS error similar to the one being discussed on this forum................see the link below:

or is it an intentional mistake to earn some additional revenue by making petitioners file for I-824 ( fees is $340) ??

Thanks!

A BIG congratulations to you too! You have been through a long wait yourself and have been very supportive to a lot of people on this forum including me.

I am very Happy for you both.

I am not sure if I will be able to be with my fiancee for the interview.......... can't get off work but I have tried to address every anticipated issue this time. My petition package was almost 4 pounds................ I really hope she gets the visa this time.

Thanks!

A few letters since last year have said the files are being sent to the consulate, but they do indeed go through NVC first. Its not a problem, its just the wording on some of the NOA2's thats a bit confusing but its following the right procedure. The part they are talking about with the I-824 is because you had a prior application for a K1 visa, and that form would allow you to try to get action on the first petition (if it hadn't been cancelled) because its for the same beneficiary. You are tracked because after a certain number (which I don't remember) you have to file for a waiver of the IMBRA thing due to multiple petitioning. You should be fine just as you are though! Good luck on the rest of your process.
