There are a lot of things I like about the US, but the biggest one is really that people don't live in each other's pockets. Neighbors don't check on whether I put the broom to the sidewalk by Saturday 10:00 am or if my leaves are raked or not.

I'm sure this is different depending on where you live but I grew up in a small town in southwestern Germany and it was suffocating me!

The things I love about the United States:

1. My in-laws are cool (especially my Mother-in-law who treats me like her own daughter. We go shopping together. When she found something that she knows I like, she buys it and give it to me. She spoils me. She washes my clothes every time I stay to her house. My father-in-law cooks. Most of the MIL's in the Philippines (but I am not generalizing) are not like the Mother-in-law I have. My Mom did have bad experiences dealing with her MIL (my grandma) I am glad that I am not experiencing the bad things my Mom experienced before.

 This describes my mother-in-law, too! (And my FIL is also the one who cooks).

I'm going to add:

1. Chocolate! Yes, the chocolate found in most supermarkets is far inferior to chocolate found in UK supermarkets, but there is some really good chocolate to be found if you know where to look. In particular sea-salt chocolate is much easier to find here (if you have never had sea-salt chocolate, try it!)

2. Tea. I've been fully converted from tea-bags to loose-leaf. Some excellent tea shops/online tea shops here.

3. The price and availability of clothes. My wardrobe has never looked so good! (Conversely, I find many electronics - DVDs in particular - more expensive, but oh well).

4. Better weather, definitely.

5. I agree with Kevin regarding the diversity - so many people of so many different cultures in my city and at my work.

6. American TV shows. There are some really high quality productions.
