I'm not quite sure as I have not done it yet. However, I believe that she has to file a REPORT OF MARRIAGE at the nearest consulate as proof of marriage. Although I have heard of other Filipinos renewing their passports w/ their married names w/o the Report of Marriage. Try to visit the website of your the Philippine Consulate closest to your home, if they don't have their own, you can try to visit the websites of the Los Angeles and San Francisco Philippine consulates just to read up on this.

25 January 2010: Concurrent filing of I-130, I-485, EAD and AP - sent via UPS overnight delivery to Chicago Lockbox

It is easier and cheaper to do it in the philippines (new passport)...I have read where people have done this because they are not very close to a consulate in the US.. I would make sure you have an original copy of the marriage certificate (as issued from the state where you got married)...this serves as extra proof when you come back and explains why the name is different in the passport VS the greencard. If there is a lot of time left on the passport before it expires, i believe you can just ammend the name in it.

Removal of conditions Journey

16 March 2012 Sent I-751 package from Aviano AB, Italy.

29 March 2012 Received everything back...wrong fee. thought we didn't have to pay biometrics since we were sending fingerprint cards and passport photos.

30 March 2012 Sent everything out again from Aviano AB, Italy.

10 April 2012 Check cashed

17 April 2012 Received NOA1 dated 6 April.

06 Dec 2012 Received 10 yr green card. Letter said it was approved 28 November 2012.

She can renew her passport in Philippines but first you have to file a Report of Marriage to the Philippine Consulate. If she decides to do it in PI, her passport name and tickets should be the same hence; tickets will be in her maiden name and bring your Marriage Certificate with you when you travel. You will be fine!
