No sense in insuring it. It's a pile of papers and you won't receive any compensation for it.

Send it with a carrier who has a reliable online tracking system. Send it to be signed at delivery.

Fed Ex offers a ground service which is extremely affordable compared to their air service. We always use this method for any important paperwork, immigration or business.

I will see you one day again, my love.

We sent ours via USPS... but it also only needed to go a few cities away.

If you're quite far from the service center, Fed Ex or UPS is probably better.

Do you have to do anything special when sending it off? Should you ensure it or anything like that?

Any of the major shippers are good (fedex, ups etc) but expensive. I sent USPS priority with delivery confirmation. You can also request return signature receipt. No need to insure against loss since there is nothing of monetary value (documents). Just make sure you have a complete backup copy if the worst happens (OMG LOST!).

i like - usps with tracking and delivery confirmation - NO SIGNATURE REQUIRED - usually to a PO Box.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

USPS, Priority mail with delivery confirmation, about five bucks. You can pay four or five times as much and maybe save a day in a months long process. Remember, only USPS delivers to PO. Boxes.

We sent ours with USPS -- we got the NOA1 two weeks later (it was dated only 3 days after we sent our petition). The whole process is expensive, we tried to save money wherever we could :)

Sent ours USPS. I live in an hour drive from CSC. The package arrived overnight and was given the NOA1 dated the same day it was received (sent on 1/26 and received NOA1 date 1/27). Be sure to mark you action on the outside of the envelope (I-129F, I-130, etc.)..it speeds up the sorting.

I didn't realize that the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service only accepts cases at post office boxes.

No that is incorrect. They provide a PO Box address if you are going to send it by USPS (US Postal Service). They provide an actual street address for delivery by a non-USPS service such as Fed-Ex. Look at the addresses available in the instructions sheets.

There's 2 types of addresses, covered in each set of instructions, for each petition type, each form type.

A PO Box address , and then a courier address.

Let me know if you get stumped, or can't find the instructions with the addresses?

USPS no signature sometimes the signature delays the delivery, and be sure to make a duplicate copy, USCIS people are human as well and do make errors...

I used Fed-Ex custom critical overnight. From Ohio to CSC was $12.79 and it was received by 10:30AM the following day. I liked the fact that I could track the package in real time and was even able to print out the signature fro E. Jameson who signed for it at CSC mail room.

Received NOA1 in the mail less than 5 days later.
