Dear VJ friends,

Hi,

I had an interview for IR1, in montreal on Nov.16, 2009. And during the interview the visa officer (lady) asked me for insuffitient affidavit. And need a joint affidavit.

So I informed my spouse and she sent me a joint affidavit.

And then I sent to the consulate. And they received on Dec.01, 2009. So till now no reply. I email them in the mid of January, 20210, regarding the update of my case. But still no reply.

So is it any friend know that how long does it take?

I had to send some futher information also not an affidavit of support but it took them about a month to finally send our visas. And thats after emailing them about 4 times. While the first two emails weren't answered the 3rd email was. The lady that answered it said she would look into our case and that was it. She left her office number at the bottom of the email (I dont think on purpose LOL). Me being the aggressive person I am. I called the number and her voicemail picked up and said she was going on vacation for a couple of weeks. I said ####### so i emailed them again and a couple days later checked my envelope tracking number and it was in the mail. No response to that last email tho. Only advice i can give keep emailing, someone eventually will answer I hope or your envelope will just appear in the mail. it may take a little long for the AOS they may have to verify your sponser income but either way Good luck hope it comes soon

Thanks for reply,

When you send the first email, then you wait for the reply. So can you tell me please that how many days you wait for the reply, and then you send the second email and as well as the third email also.

Because I email them in the mid of Jan., 2010 and no reply at yet.

moved from General Immigration forum to CR-IR1 forum as it relates to an IR-1 visa

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Well for the first 2 until they were answered i think i may have waited about 3 or 4 days.. I think they say wait longer but I needed answers... when the 3rd one was answered it only took one day. By the time i called and realized that the lady was on vacation i emailed a 4th time but 2 days later my visas were in the mail.

when you sent the info that they requested did you send in your passport too? because the paper we got said once you have the information you need send it back with the passports. they already had the BIG ENVELOPE from when we went to the interview.

During the interview she told me NOT to send my Passport with the papers. Once she receives my papers she will reassess my file and then will make a decision.
