My husband and I are planning a trip to Peru in a month. This is our first trip out of the country since getting his conditional residency, so I want to make sure we don't have any problems and he can return. He has had his green card for about a year now. I was wondering if it is a problem that we lost the return portion of the I-94 that they gave him when he entered the country. Will he need to bring anything else besides his green card when we leave? Thanks!

2009-04-08 : POE Atlanta (256 days from sending I-130)

re: lost I-94 - no. IIRC, a I-130 petition / CR-1 Visa holder has NO NEED to even be issued an I-94. If he was issued one at POE, suggest it was a mistake by a CBP officer.

he needs passport to leave usa, arrive in peru, leave peru, arrive in usa.

he needs greencard to be 'let into' the usa.

You shouldn't have any problems.......

Just to be on the safe side, I would take along a copy of your marriage license. Not so much for leaving or entering the U.S. but for leaving Peru..... It's just an extra document besides the green card stating to Peruvian immigration that you guys are married

3/06/06 - AOS/EAD/AP process begins

3/31/06 - AOS/EAD/AP package Fed Ex'd to Chicago

4/03/06 - AOS/EAD/AP package signed & received

4/10/06 - NOA1's received for AOS, EAD and AP via U.S. Mail

4/11/06 - All 3 checks cashed / $745.00 poorer but worth every penny

4/27/06 - Receive Biometrics appointment letter scheduled for 5/11/06

5/11/06 - Biometrics completed

6/02/06 - Receive notice that AOS only has been transferred to California to speed things along

6/07/06 - E-mail that AOS received in California

6/13/06 - Welcome letter mailed by California... yeah baby

6/17/06 - Official welcome letter received and card will arrive within 3 weeks

6/19/06 - Card arrived in the mail.......

3/08/07 - Trip back to Peru for 10 days and our Religous Wedding

3/2007 - We're Pregnant

12/19/07 - Sebastien Joshua born 8:29am 7lbs 2oz 19.5"

3/14/08 - I-751 Removing Condition is in the mail

3/20/08 - Checked cashed

3/17/08 - I-751 Package signed and received

11/3/08 - Touched again.. this is begining to feel good

Luis just got back from Peru a couple weeks ago & we totally forgot about that $31 airport fee per person you have to pay on the way out :wacko: It's just annoying to have to get off the line & go to the ATM so don't forget it! :star:

Oh and this was his first time out of the US with his greencard, they didn't even ask him any questions or anything. It was easy.

When I brought Peter to the USA we brought the cat we had in Peru together. They charged us a $31 fee to get the cat out!! I couldn't believe it. Normally I take American Airlines or Delta and they include the fee. Glad to hear you had a successful trip back to peru!

I do not know about him but you should always take some Pepto Bismol and Aspirin. Everytime I go to a new City or town in Thailand with Audy, I either get Food poisoning or something in the water. :P

Yea I have been to Peru 4 times and always get very sick so I will be sure to bring pepto!!
