Ok, I start my journey at 6am. Got to the embassy at 7.15am. Waited in the queue. Security checks went fine, got my ticket number, I have I-851. At 8.10am I get called up to the first window, the window of door. The women from was abnosiously rude, patronising and agresive. They lost my packet 3 for CR-1, she went looking for it 3 times, not found. I was stressing and worried. Luckly I had copies of nearly everything in my file (I-130 petition) this kinda proved that I had obtained everything. I aruged and aruged with her. She went to see her supervisor, to him for advise. She finally came back, said to me I can still go for my interview, but no visa would be issued until they receive these documents.

I was SO PISSED! 10 minutes later I get called up to counter 16. I walk up to it, there was a guy, with a wmoen stadning behind him. I started explaining everything to him, proving dates of when things of actioned from NVC etc. He was calm, explained things to me. I then said would you like to see the 6 files + photo album of evidence I'd brought? He said yes, he looked through literatlly everything. I had photos of my parents with my wife, this helped. I think it was because I'm asian and my wife is white. Anyway, he then made me take an oath, sign DS-230 p2 form, I took this as a good sign. He then asked the following question:

When did you get married?

How long you been married for?

How did you meet?

How long have you known each other for?

(it's important to keep eye contact)

The first lady asked me:

What's your wifes name?

Have you been divorced?

have you got any children?

Criminal record?

Been in trouble with the police?

been denied visa?

what do you do for a living?

This were pre-set question when you go through the pre-screening.

Now I have get the 3 sponsorship forms, signed; sent ot UK. I will then call the courier and get them collected along with my passport; and then hopefully get my visa within a week. I'm still stressed untill they receive my passport. Fingures crossed people I get this sorted ASAP!

Best of Luck. Best wishes. Thank you.

Ah mate, sorry for your trouble. I had an issue last friday during my first visit to the counter to drop of necessary documents etc. The woman said that they didn't have a copy of my father in law's birth certificate (needed as he's the co-sponsor) and I was going to have to get a copy sent and then courier my passport to the embassy etc. I knew we had sent it with the packet, so I asked her to look again and she got very huffy and told be that I was taking up too much of her time. I then asked to look through the packet myself and, surprise surprise, I found the birth certificate within 30 seconds.

I didn't know whether to mad at her or just plain relieved with the fact it was there. I think I settled on relieved! Try not to stress, you completed your interview and once these documents are sent into them it'll be plain sailing.

Thanks mate. Well the documents have been sent from USA y'day. I should receive them by Monday. I wonder how long it will take the courier to come and pick up my documents. Everyone is happy that I got approved pending documents, I didn't even know sure a thing could append. I got grilled though, they ask a ####### of thing. I paranoid of them getting the documents and still refusing me. Although, like I mentioned above, I have signed all documents and did confirm my approval twice

Best of Luck. Best wishes. Thank you.

OK,

so I have been given the blue slip, with the first tick box ticked - my application is missing some documents. I confirmed with the consular officer has my application been approved he said yes. Yet I'm still not 100% convinced. On the form it states I need to send in the following in:

My original birth certificate

My original police certificate

sponsor original signature

co-sponsor original signature on AOS forms

My passport.

They don't want anything else, I confirmed this. They took my 2x USA passport size photos and I signed the DS-230 part 2, for SSN and green card. I also signed the military form. the officer said as soon as i send in the documents required my passport will be back to me with the visa within a week. figures crossed

Best of Luck. Best wishes. Thank you.

Fingers crossed Hindocha, almost all over!

I wonder if we had the same woman first, mine didn't have the medical results and somehow it was my fault. After a couple of minutes arguing with her I had it (she acused me of not having it) she goes back into another office and finds it in about 1 minute.

Yes possibly!

Well, like I said they only want the 4 remaining documents, so I'm sending it tomorrow. Embassy should receive it by Wednesday, hopefully they will action before Friday. They want my passport as well, so I'm taking that as a very good sign, also the interviewer did say that I was approved, pending these documents. I have signed ds-230 part two, they have taken my pictures, I swore oath and I signed the military paper.

I just hope the paperwork is enough and finally i get my long awaited visa

Best of Luck. Best wishes. Thank you.

Funny same thing happened to David and while we were worried she wandered away and came back holding his xray. She said what happened was we had medical before the interview date was assigned and those are stored in a different place. She was a dark haired lady with an accent at window #1 and she told us repeatedly how she hated her job which I found rather amusing.

The second woman was at #14 I think and she was really nice and got the infor from us but in a conversational manner. It was wicked easy. He is on the plane now! I hope finding a job will go as smoothly!

Just submit everything and keep a copy. What was on your letter? When we got the interview letter it listed exactly what they had already recieved. There are codes but there is a key that explains them all.

Good luck

There was nothing stated on the interview letter. I think I got the same lady as you. I called NVC, packet 3 had the K3 reference number and not CR-1. NVC have sent the documents to Embassy w/c 27th October, so they are somewhere in the Embassy.

After the interview the officer said, he can't issue the visa because the application is incomplete. He then gave me a blue letter and tick the top box stating the visa application has been suspended and will resume once the additional documents have been returned. I ask the officer have I been approved he said yes. They want my passport along with the 4 documents, then he said my passport will be returned with visa, hopefully within a week.

I have already signed DS-230 part and the military form. the lady took my passport size photos and my figure prints.

Best of Luck. Best wishes. Thank you.

sounds like we've all had the same problem with the same person. Seriously considered calling the embassy to complain after my interview, but didn't want to fuss as I was still waiting for my visa. But seeing as I have it now.......hmmm.

I wonder how many people have had to wait even longer to get their visa because of this person?

I'd ask Nik+Heather...I think they went through a bit of a wait for the embassy to get their visa after returning docs and called them up and said there was a certain number of business days that the USE can have before issuing the visa. Good luck!

Hey,

Yes, I called them yesterday; they confirmed they'd received my documents on Thursday morning, but it can take up to 10-15 working days. Yet more waiting. I just hope I FINALLY get the approval by next week. This is painful now.
