It has to do with the reality of him voting for a silver tongued rookie hack, that he fell head over heels for! And continues to be in a state of denial.

You're so cute Marc. I really love what you've done with your hair. Purple is really your thing. Stay with that.

Ok, you want serious? I'll give you serious. No, I don't believe there is a "conflict of interest" here.

There is a clear conflict of interest whether you believe in it or not - simply by virtue

of the fact that the government is a regulator of the automobile industry (NHTSA) and

has equity stakes in two of Toyota's competitors.

Now I don't believe that the government's actions in regard to the Toyota recall were

motivated by that conflict of interest, but you don't have to be a conspiracy theorist to

see why governments shouldn't own or control businesses - precisely to avoid these

kinds of questions.

Did NASCAR rules take over the car industry? While some idiots think one is a Ford or a Chevy, the cars are exactly the same built to precise specifications. In looking over a Camry, Taurus, and a Lumina, the outline of these three vehicles was practically identical with only minor cosmetic differences. What happened to identification by body styles?

One difference that stuck me instantly was the lack of protective side molding on the Camry where both the Taurus and Lumina had that protective side molding. In a trip to my Toyota dealer, all of their vehicles lacked this minor feature. Maybe they think since you drive a Toyota, no one would dare slam their car door into it when parked. I did run my hand over those unprotected and noted a lack of a force field to block me from touching it, no new innovation there.

Had to give credit to these Jap vehicle manufacturers in the late 70's to hire American engineers and Italian stylists to show them how to build a car. But that didn't last long, now they are making ####### like everyone else. Another disadvantage of owning these cars is highway robbing for replacement parts, can't say our domestics are much better. Since I have worked in this field, replacements parts are about a hundred times in price than the actual manufacturers cost. Granted, a big reason for this is our IRS treating these parts as profit and at retail value. But at least at my Ford dealer can get a discount as much as 60%, don't try that at any Toyota dealer. Most recent was Toyota asking 460 bucks for a Made in China two buck fuel pump, but the counter guy would include sales tax in that price. Crazy. Least I can get an OE Chevy pump for 60 bucks, same quality, but they make them all slightly different so they don't fit.

Can really honor Toyota for their dedication to their stockholders, but screw the customer.

Ray LaHood the secretary of transportation sat down and addressed a committee of congress .With the entire liberal press looking on told the owners of toyota cars that they should park them. He should be fired for that. He works for the government...The government is the largest shareholder in the company called government motors..The faster they can get the toyota stock to crash and burn the better for GM. It makes you wonder how many hundreds of thousands of shares of GM stock he and his "friends" in Washington own. I own a Toyota and am not afraid to drive it.

I just want to point out that when you use the term "Jap" as you have done its extremely derogatory. I don't think people would appreciate a chinese company being called a "chink" manufacturer.

You couldn't pay me to buy/drive a GM, Chrysler or Ford vehicle.

Actually, I'd buy a Ford. They've really turned around.

Please don't use derogatory racial terms - they are insulting to both the user and the reader, add nothing to the discussion and are a violation of TOS.
