My fiancé has his K1 visa and we're trying to find the cheapest way for him to get from France to the US. Legally, are there any restrictions for him when it comes to one way or round trip tickets, or can he travel how he wants? Thanks for your help!

Which ever way they want.

K-1 means they are intending on immigrating.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

I have the same question! Roundtrip fares are 1/3 or less the price of one ways. As far as I know, there's no link between the airlines' documentation and the POE. We were planning to buy roundtrip and forfeiting the second flight, but are there any implications for doing this?

I bought a return as it was cheaper. Try having the return date on a Sunday as it was cheap for me. My Outbound journey was on Saturday and returning Sunday. That would have been a short trip had I returned. Ha

If a one way is cheaper then do that.

Cheapest is most legal, to pay more is a crime.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

On second thought - there might be some implications...

Some airlines keep track of people "trip dumping" to get smaller fee's - and once you hit a magical number - they play hardball with you...

(as read through some travel blogs)

But once in a while wouldn't have any, I would think.

You could book this trip on an airline you don't plan to use on a recurring basis.

05/04/09 -- K1 visa, NOA-1

09/18/09 -- K1, NOA-2

01/26/09 -- Interview passed in Moscow

03/02/10 -- POE, JFK airport

05/23/10 -- Wedding!

11/16/10 -- 2-year green card approved

04/01/13 -- 10-year green card approved

11/23/13 -- N-400 mailed

Jan. 24, 2010 - Interview!! Approved

Jan. 28, 2010 - VISA received

Mar. 03,2010 - POE, New York (JFK)

Apr. 12,2010- CA ID

May 20,2010- CA Driving License

May, 25,2010-Wife told me that she is pregnant ^_^

Jan.25,2011- Our daughter was born

I bought the cheapest - round trip, and had no problems at the POE.

02.24.2010 - Employment Authorization Card arrived today!

03.05.2010 - I-485 APPROVED, "Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident"

03.11.2010 - "Welcome to the US of A" letter arrived

03.12.2010 - PR Card arrived

Dec. 5, 2011 (Monday) - Is the date when I can apply for Removal of Conditions
