I did a walk in also and had no troubles. Although sometimes it depends on the office. I've read somewhere here that someone was turned down by doing a walk in early (can't remember from which state). But surely worth the try.

I've heard more successes than failures at attempts at early walk-ins. The worst they can do is say "come back next week".
