We're still waiting on Packet 4. She sent Packet 3 back on April 7 and the checklist on April 10. I've called DOS three times. The first time, they said she was eligible for an interview, but it hadn't been scheduled yet. I called yesterday and I was told they had DS-230, but she was INELIGIBLE as they don't have everything. I explained she sent the checklist a few days after sending Packet 3 back and was told the system was last updated on April 20 and to keep calling. I called today and was simply told the interview hadn't been scheduled, but she wouldn't tell me anything about when the system was last updated.

So I'm frustrated. She's already done her medical. I'm just hoping the checklist isn't the only thing holding this up and that they haven't misplaced it somewhere.

Ok, that feels better. Thanks for enduring my rant.

You could try sending the checklist again Return Receipt Requested. Did you send it so that you got a signature from the Embassy? Can you do that? Maybe they won't sign.

Now what's next step? Approval is sent to NVC and we have to check if is sent or not? My fiance has to send me a copy of the package he sent to CSC? Do i have to receive in my place a list with the papers that are required for the interview? Thank you all!

Has time seemed to slow down?

There is still 5 weeks until May's interview at the embassy. We are still waiting for police clearance forms so it must be 5 weeks.

It just seems the fabric of time is being folded like on of Oprah's towels (into 3rds instead of half to allow for less space in the closet).

It propably also feels slower since I just came back from seeing May.

I keep telling myself, patience but the Veruca Salt inside of keeps yelling, "But I want it now!"

You'd think that every hurdle passed would bring the Event closer but now weeks are passing like the first few months of this whole process did.

The number of times we've said "almost there babes" when some major milestone in this process has been reached. The math doesn't seem to relate to the perceived wait still ahead when done in days left and all that.

What a strange and delightful experience it will be to actually go through the portal!

Kathryn here---that was my love invoking the Fibonacci analogy--- It's blowing my mind to remember the first vague inquiries we made here at vj about how to be together. We were sort of trapped in Mexico at the time, better part of a year ago, and the whole process was as hazy and faraway-seeming as it could be.

I remember trying to phrase questions in ways least likely to draw impatient ire from the wonderful and knowledgeable curmudgeons here, taking stabs in the dark, feeling adrift. Now how is it that we've done it all, almost, and the end is so close we can almost touch it? Trip out.

I'm sure Richard had no idea what he was signing up for when he innocently accepted an offer from my roommate of a place to stay while he was passing through my town. Joke's on you baby! While time has turned inside out, so have the common sense equations of effort and reward. Like, I'm willing to have gone through all this if I could just spoon for an evening. I've lost all sense of proportion. Up is down and down is up. Dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria...

Anyway! Tomorrow will leave three more weeks til interview; that's twenty-one days, roughly 500 hours. We can do this.

well called the USEM Manila today because my girl got her letter to setup her interview date ant we got June 4th!!! I was not expecting to get in so fast. Just need the medical next week and to wait.
