Hey guys. have a question not sure if anyone here can answer but was wondering if Fiancee goes to medical on the 5th of June in Manila how many days should she plan on staying..I mean will she be safe figuring getting a flight back to Cagayan late on the 7th? Or should she plan on leaving the 8th?

Hi Zyrian, this is not the best place to post a question specifically about the Philippine Medical Exam. There are two better places. One would be the Forum called US Embassy and Consulate Discussion because the medical is ordered at that stage in the process. Another good place is to look for the Regional Forum on the Philippines and place the question there. SOmeone from the Phils might come a long and give you the answer here, but it is better to place this question in the right forum. OK?

If you can't find either forum, let me knoe, I will go get the link to each thread or forum.

Good luck.

Hey Zyrian, we have a very active forum in the Philippine section. These types of questions would get answered almost immediately over there.

To answer your question....St Luke's medical exam is a two-day affair. No appointment needed. You go on the 1st day and get your exam, x-rays, blood tests...and you go back 2nd day and do your vaccination shots. I had my fiance stay in Manila two nights. Unless the sputum test is requested, you could plan on your fiance heading home on the evening flight after the 2nd day medical.

Had a wonderful 3 week visit with May. Got all of our papers organized. I have a few to send her but we are 98% ready. The only bad part of my visit with May was that it ended :crying:

The blessing this time is no 6 month wait to see her again. Her interview is in 6 weeks. Then she will be here 6 weeks after she passes! Let's see that is (counting on fingers...oops, off comes one shoe.... ) about 12 weeks!

Is that a light I see in this tunnel? Who's kidding who. We are only in the K1 Visa tunnel. After that comes the AOS tunnel.

Hi everyone!

Well, we finally got some good news on our case: the NVC received our approved petition on April 20th, and sent it to London on April 26th. It was received in London on April 29th - yay! The I129F was approved on March 31st and then nothing happened with it for ages - it was getting to be seriously frustrating! We still haven't received a letter from the NVC but hopefully that should be on its way now.

Anyway, we have almost 2 fantastic weeks left together before I have to go home (the stupid volcano situation meant I had to delay my trip by a week, but luckily I was able to change my vacation dates with work and didn't end up losing any time here with Shawn!). Oh and it's funny, I kinda expected to get grilled when I got to Phoenix as I have been once before, but the guy was just like, "Are you here on vacation?" and I said, "Yep," and then he went on to ask if I'd been affected by the volcano. That was it! I'd even got a letter from work stating my vacation dates, just in case. Guess I should be less of a worrier!

What a relief! I'm sorry things have been a little muddy for you guys. I would feel guilty about our preternaturally fast and clean process, but we've not been able to visit at all for going on 8 months, so it's a wash. I'm just feeling super excited for everyone to get reunited. Good wishes for a fast interview date assignment and all the rest.

I was wondering what happened to you. That is great news but what happened with your petition between March 31st and April 20th? Maybe the petition decided to take a vacation also.

Congratulations on your progress. Enjoy the rest of your holiday.

That's what I wanted to know, too, but they can't or won't say. It must've been sitting there doing nothing, I can't see what else could've been happening! Anyway, whatever, we're just glad it's finally where it's meant to be! :)

Thanks everyone for your good wishes - hope you're all doing well and making good progress!

We just found out that we can get the police certificate in a week if we pay an "expedited service fee", so it looks like we'll be able to keep our June 8th interview date in Moscow! Now we get to play the airline booking game and find the most flexible options at the cheapest price in case we need to reschedule due to delays in actually getting the visa in hand. For a June 8th interview, we're thinking of initially getting the flight home on June 12th...gotta go back and read what others have done first, I guess.

So close.

June 12th might be risky, no? We were trying to divine what kind of buffer to leave between the interview and the flight, and from looking at reviews for the consulate, seems like "3 to 5 business days" is the standard line. So you may want to give it a couple/few more days?

We're still waiting on Packet 4. She sent Packet 3 back on April 7 and the checklist on April 10. I've called DOS three times. The first time, they said she was eligible for an interview, but it hadn't been scheduled yet. I called yesterday and I was told they had DS-230, but she was INELIGIBLE as they don't have everything. I explained she sent the checklist a few days after sending Packet 3 back and was told the system was last updated on April 20 and to keep calling. I called today and was simply told the interview hadn't been scheduled, but she wouldn't tell me anything about when the system was last updated.

So I'm frustrated. She's already done her medical. I'm just hoping the checklist isn't the only thing holding this up and that they haven't misplaced it somewhere.

Ok, that feels better. Thanks for enduring my rant. :)
