Hey Salsa,

Checked the DHL website again and a 12 pound package was shipped to Moscow today from NVC ..... I was kind of wondering about yesterday's package.. it only weighed 2 pounds .. so I thought I would check it again. I am wondering now how much of a delay there might be due that volcanic dust that is shutting down european airspace ...... DHL goes through Leipzig Germany before going on to Moscow.

Varyag ... where are you from ? Da Bears .... you're about 50 miles due north of me. Seems like we have a good collection of midwesterners here.

I live in Lakeview (North Chicago) not too far from Wrigley Field... :star:

Congratulations, guys!

I'm hoping that the rest of us are those (un)lucky saps who got sent approval letters without a touch ;)

Yeah I am getting very frustrated because we sent ours about the same time and haven't heard anything, but March is already getting approved?! What happened I am wondering??

The mid-west and NORTH mid-west (Wisconsin) is OK if you are bringing a Russian fiance(e) but I do not think Audy, my Thai fiancee would last a winter in Wisconsin or much of the mid-west.

Good luck February guys.

It looks like overlap towards the end of the months is pretty standard - there's a very loose sort of "order" for cases, and it's more a matter of who picks up what stack. In an ideal world it would be more "fair," but... there you have it. However, these next two weeks should see our petitions taken care of. I'm just now learning to curtail my compulsive USCIS checking :P

  • 02/16/2010 - i129F sent
  • 02/22/2010 - NOA1
  • 04/20/2010 - NOA2 (hardcopy on 4/22)
  • 09/23/2010 - Interview
  • 09/28/2010 - Returned with police cert
  • 10/14/2010 - Went back to consulate to redo fingerprints
  • 10/18/2010 - Received visa! POE same day

I know what you mean. I am checking all the time. Why don't governement officials work on the weekends?! I'm hoping we're in someone's pile and they get to us soon! I know it was a long shot planning the wedding when we didn't have a visa, but dear God I hope it all works out!! Be sure to let us know as soon as you get your approval. You know I will.

Yeah... same as you and Linasaur...got our NOA1 hard copy sent february 22nd but the actual NOA1 is february 17, no any single touch since then so yeah i think we three are in the same pile and yeah...why not can be approvals with no touch before it? :) Stay positive my ppls soon will be our turn!!! anyway gotta think we are still in the average time between NOA1 and NOA2 even though several february filers approvals have been fast. Ok! Much love and God bless!!!

Uhhhh....Linasaur, are you involved in Operations Research or maybe Industrial Engineering? It is absolutely amazing the way you have observed which dates are approved and which were bypassed and then created a perfectly plausible explanation as to the inner workings of CSC.

Basically USCIS officer John Smith turns to Jane Doe and says Jane, you are so fast why don't you pick up starting with March 1 NOAs, and I will take my time finishing up those remaining for February . Possibly.

I just hope all February guys get approved soon.

@SunDrop - Hey Sun, are you OK with the Icelandic Volcanic Ash stuff. When was Ry flying to Engliand ? I hope everything goes according to plan for you guys.

Hiya

We're ok with the volcanic ash, in so far as we're not seeing any sign of it! lol.. Ry's not due to be flying for another 3 weeks, so fingers crossed things are back on track when he's due to depart.

But otherwise, the only hiccup is that my future mother-in-laws I-134 and supporting docs are stuck somewhere waiting for a plane to land in the UK and I can't send off for my German police certificate, since there's no airmail :( Knowing my luck, our P3 will arrive sometime very soon and I won't be able to send off my checklist until all that stuff gets to me. I wish there was another way of applying for the German police certificate, seeing as it takes about 3 weeks to come back, I just want to order the blasted thing!

But thanks for asking and thinking of us :)

I was thinking just today about Shawn and Emi, and anyone else with a UK beneficiary who's waiting for their file to reach the USEL. Can't think that DHL is allowed to fly either, so that must mean all couriered documents are delayed too. It's so annoying! Last year's cohorts were blighted by Royal Mail strikes, this year seems to be down to random acts of God that haven't happened since 1821! lol

I'm about to try and go to sleep, so will look at updating the list (if any updates are to be had..) tomorrow.

Timeline Summary:

K-1/K-2 NOA1 - POE: 9 February - 9 July 2010

Married: 17 July 2010

AOS mailed - Interview : 22 November 2010 - 10 March 2011

ROC mailed - approved: 14 February - 18 June 2013

Citizenship mailed - ceremony: 9 February - 7 June 2017

I don't know exactly what a "touch" is, but my case was updated today! Not sure what that means because it says it is still in "initial review", but I hope it means something good. I didn't receive and email or text message though. Does the status show up on the USCIS site, or do I have to wait to get something in the mail?

While there's ash in the atmosphere, planes can't (or we're told they can't) fly. So documents that need sending from US to UK, and flights of beneficiaries into the US, etc., are all on hold. Europe is sort of closed right now. I'm developing a giant fan.

Hi sharaincali, When your case is updated, that is 'touched." It may or may not mean something. But I think it is a good sign. The day after my file was touched, I was approved.

The status will move to "Post Decision Activity" from "Initial Review" and tell you if it is approved. Remotely, it could move to RFE instead of post decision activity but lets not even think that way. So YES, the status will show up on the uscis web site and you may not get a text or email message. I signed up for email, not text, I never got a single email but I had three touches at the end and then an approval, all with no emails.

Good luck
