Ok - the next stage: packet 3. This might clog up this thread a bit as this might be too country/consular specific to warrant inclusion in this thread, so please excuse and advise as need be.

We don't want to hang around waiting for packet 3 to turn up in the post, and it doesn't seem necessary, as all the forms required can be found online.

As far as I understand it packet 3 asks us to complete the following:

DS-156, DS-156k, DS-230 part 1 and the checklist/notification of applicant readiness.

And of those only the DS-230 part 1 and the checklist/notification of applicant readiness needs to be mailed to the embassy; in our case, London. That is what is needed to get the ball rolling for being issued an interview date, with the rest needing to be taken to the interview only.

Can anyone confirm that this is accurate?

here's a link to another thread about this with some more detail, btw.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/250013-packet-3-questions/

Have a looksee here- was wondering the same thing, so started a thread for information :)

Per email from USCIS, they mailed my approved petition last Apr 5, 2010. Checked on 4/5 USCIS site, touched on 4/5/2010. Checked on 4/6 USCIS site, touched again 4/6/2010. Does this mean, USCIS (CSC) sent to NVC? If they said that CSC sent last 4/5, why there is another touched on 4/6?

Just trying my luck if they sent to NVC, since earlier posted that CIS sent a bunch of approved petition to NVC? Maybe mine is included? Wishfull thinking here..thanks!!

Wishing or Adam & May, did NVC give you the DHL tracking number.

Thanks very much and good luck.

Hello,

No they did not give me a tracking number...although i don't know that I asked for it either. They did say it shipped out via DHL yesterday. So I went on the NVC threads and found this:

"1- when you know from AVR that your case was forward to embassy ( mm/dd/yyyy) lets take an example case forward to embassy March 20th 2009

2- go to DHL TRACK

3- then under track list click on track reference

4- put the reference in this shape EXP19MAR2009A and push track

now we seen its completed in 2oth but we searched in 19th yes because they schedule shipping day before so DHL know in advance when they will ship it so day before will be your exact day for NVC shipping your case to your embassy

i tried it this way and worked but i found 2 cases to cairo so which one is mine dosent matter as along as i can keep an eye on it for sure the month will be changing just the example above for explanation"

(I don't know how else to do the link to the thread) In any case I put EXP 06 APR 2010A with a range of April 5th to 7th. Then got a list of shipments from U.S. Department of State @ Portsmouth...only one shipment to Montreal so its gotta be mine!! (hopefully)

:dance::dancing::dance:

Wishing luck to all those waiting out NVC...it will happen!!!

Heya

Posting a day early, coz I know we're Feb '10 CSC filers as we'll be mailing our I-129F off tomorrow. Can't sleep I'm so excited!

And with you on the waiting. Had to wait for my divorce to be finalised and erm, for him to formally propose. Which was fair enough, I didn't want him to until I knew for certain that my divorce was nearly finalised. And then he had an 'omg, wth am I doing' moment, we broke up and got through barely 24 hours before he took hold of his senses and had another 'omg, wth am I doing' moment that reversed the initial one. Anyone still with me? lol...

We also had the slowest 2-4 working day delivery, thanks USPS, that meant our I-129F package took 10 working days to get there. The day it arrived, I had couriered a replacement one to him and now we're actually waiting for that to arrive tomorrow because it's got the 2nd copy of the G-325a that I forgot to include, as well as the copy of my decree absolute that wasn't available when I sent the first package and also the 'proof of name change document (my first marriage certificate) which I'd been told wasn't necessary as it was supposedly listed on my divorce decree. But as it wasn't, I decided to include the name change proof which they'll either need or not. So that's one potential RFE crossed off the list.

Gonna be a nutty fool once we've put it in the mail. Trying to think of fun ways to mark every passing day until NOA2 arrives. At the moment, I'm thinking of putting money in a jar each passing day, say £2 a day. I won't miss it but it will slowly add up :)

WOW mines got approved on 1 april as well so we are on same time line i guess....

we can share topics :D

Good luck

Thanks Wishing. It took me a few minutes to figure it out. It seems as of 01:43 Apr 7 it was sitting in the hub in Cinncinnatti.

I just want to know that all the paperwork is moving along and not lost. We aren't in a big rush here since Audy needs to complete work through October before she can come over here.

But I am in a hurry up and wait mode.

Thanks again.

Congratulations to all recent NOA2's. Good luck with the next steps.

From what I have read in other postings, the Consulate/Embassy has been saying the new fee will be paid based on the INTERVIEW date, not paid date. So if the interview is May 24, you will need to know if the new fee has taken effect before that date.

For address I think it is better to put your parent's address than no address. I think they might frown on someone traveling to the US and not listing an address.

if i put my parents address i think all the greencard paperwork will go to colorado, i wont be doing an adjustment of status there, ill be doing one in Alaska, i dont want to mess things up and have things go to the wrong state

I believe, but I might be wrong, that since they're multi-use forms, this would be true if you were CR-1 applicants but not as K-1. You need to AOS from your K-1 and that is where you apply for the green card.

Called the NVC today (603) 334 0700 and then press 2, 1 and 5.

They haven't received our case yet. She told me it takes 15 working days for them to get the petition and so I should call back on May 1st  lol

She had my heart in my throat for one second, because the first thing she asked was if i had the NOA2 in front of me, which I said no. And she goes "well, you'll have to call back so I can give you more information about your case." zomg! Oh, it's because she wants the date of the approval notice to tell me to call back in 1 month's time... phew! lol

Following Wishing's guide he found from the NVC forum, I was able to locate the DHL shipment from Portsmouth, NH to Bangkok. Although DHL hasn't updated the tracking log since 01:43 on April 7. So it should have gotten to Bangkok but has not been updated.

@Wishing, Ohhh, you are a Canadian Lady, then I take my thanks back.

I am sorry Wishing. I am happy you are a part of the forum and you did a great job helping me with the DHL stuff. As a matter of fact, DHL listed the "bundle" arrived in Bangkok at 03:44 April 9 in Thailand time which is 13:44 April 8 on the West Coast of the USA. I think it will get to the Embassy Friday April 9 in Thailand time.

Thank you very much Ms. Wishing and I do apologize for the he/she mix-up. I will try to remember.

I am Rob, the man and petitioner.
