Sentri pass revoked, will this affect K1 visa

So, a few months ago my fiancee was crossing the border from Tijuana to San Diego and the border control took her Sentri Pass away. Today she had a meeting and they said she will never get her visa back. Will this affect our K1 Visa? We sent it in in November...

Thanks

Is a Sentri Pass the same as a Tourist Visa? I guess it would depend upon why it was taken away. Did they give her a reason? Unless she has had illegal entries, I wouldn't think it would affect it. Did she mention to them that she had a K-1 visa pending? If so, they would probably take her tourist visa.

SENTRI pass holders are electronically screened every time they cross the border. Apparently, something in the database convinced them that she is no longer "low risk", so her pass was revoked. Whether or not it will affect your K1 visa process will depend on what triggered the CBP to revoke the pass. Did she have any encounters with US law enforcement while she was a SENTRI pass holder?

It happened one day while trying to drive across the border. There was a misunderstanding between her and the border patrol. He wanted her to go thru a different lane, she was asking why... then was told to go to a secondary inspection, which she did, then they said she was driving to fast. They ended up taking her visa/sentri pass and sent her back to Tijuana. Today she had a meeting, they said she will never get it back and they have a 200pg report. The original report from the border patrol was 3pgs.

Any "negative" encounter with a US law enforcement official can be enough to revoke a SENTRI pass, including an argument with a CBP officer. Unfortunately, you have to be as pure as the driven snow to get and keep a SENTRI pass. If they run her name through the various law enforcement databases and it comes back with anything other than a blank screen, they can revoke the pass.

The good news is that this altercation with the CBP officer should not have any adverse effect on her K1 visa. The bad news is that the CBP can still deny her entry after she gets the K1. It's not likely that they would, but they do have that discretion. She's on their "radar" now.

When the forms ask if she's ever been denied entry, you'll have to answer "yes".
