Hello everybody,

My fiance recieved a call from the consulate on Friday that the documents were recieved, and all the paperwork is good but need an original copy of the religious divorce decree. The officer also mentioned so submit additional fees to VFS. Initially he had paid the VFS fees before the interview. Yesterday my fiance got confirmation that they have recieved the original documents now, but still in additional processing :(. Maybe its wishful thinking on our part, but could these fees be for him to submit the passport for his visa so VFS can courier to him. Did anybody have similar experiece at the indian consulates? That they had to pay the VFS courier fees 2nd time around before the visa was issued.

Hi Star,

That's great that they are responding this quick. That's a good sign I believe since they are asking him to pay the fees at VFS. I think it's the courier fee for the Passport. But I would tell him to call VFS and ask them what kind of fee he needs to pay, and if it's courier fee, tell them that he already paid that before the interview. They might be asking for the fee so they can courier back the documents he submitted. Let's pray that this is it, VISA APPROVED!

Thank you for your response :). Yes, that could be it that it could be the fees to send back the original documents as well. I got an email from the consulate yesterday that our case was pending administrative processing now and will notify us once that is complete, so that is hopefully the last step before they issue him the visa. I think they wanted the original to confirm a few things. I really hope that our visa is approved soon. Yes, its very nice they are always updating me as it does not stress us out as much. Hopefully, this is the last step now.
