A while ago, I recall reading someone's post (perhaps TimandBethanie) about calling once the documents have left NVC. Can anyone point me in the direction of that thread? I'm trying to prepare for the next phase.

cant find the thread but i noted it down - they said for the american half to ring the DOS on 202 663 1225 then to press 1, then press 1, then press 0.

Yes what Lina posted. Call that number around two weeks after you know your paperwork has left NVC. They will let you know if and when it arrived to London. I called once every 2 -3 days, the hold time is usually long, worth it to set up a skype account and use the free calling feature. I recommend emailing the embassy as well, because some do hear of their interview date this way. Calling DOS gave us something to celebrate over the weekend, and the actual interview packet arrived the following Tues, we knew 4 days earlier.
