Maybe I am missing something here. When we print lots of money, it causes inflation and causes our DOLLAR to lose value against other currencies. Now I live just a ver short distance from Canada and I am as liely to have Canadian $$ in my wallet as American $$ and either are as acceptable as the other in my neighborhood. when our dollar loses value, caused by printing too many ofthe damn things, Canadians come-a-runnin' to escape 15% sales tax in Quebec and take advantage of the situation, in essence this makes our goods more affordable. It also makes a for a great ski season. When the Euro was at $1.54 to 1, our ski resorts were packed with European cutomers. The ski resorts close to the border ALWAYS offer, minimum, Canadian $$ at "PAR" whch artificially lowers the price of a lift ticket (one of our goods) and brings the Quebecois here rather than to Mont Tremblanc.

I understand what Obama is saying, but seems what you are saying is upside down. I do not think printing money makes our goods artifically exensive, it is the opposite.

Yeah I don't think that John quite got that. IE. if the RMB weren't pegged to the dollar then Obama printing more money creates a weaker dollar against the RMB, thereby raising the cost of Chinese goods in the US and potentially helping the balance trade. ...all fantasy at the moment because the currency doesn't float.

Therefore when the dollar appreciates so does the yuan. This may mean then that further dollar depreciation may actually force China's hand in allowing their currency to appreciate. Otherwise they may face a growing protectionist stance from other nations such as the EU, Australia, Canada etc with steady currencies, who will continue to see a more and more under priced yuan effecting their markets.

Euler's formula:

Euler's identity is considered by many to be remarkable for its mathematical beauty. Three basic arithmetic operations occur exactly once each: addition, multiplication, and exponentiation. The identity also links five fundamental mathematical constants:

* The number 0.

* The number 1.

* The number π, which is ubiquitous in trigonometry, geometry of Euclidean space, and mathematical analysis (π ≈ 3.14159).

* The number e, the base of natural logarithms, which also occurs widely in mathematical analysis (e ≈ 2.71828).

* The number i, imaginary unit of the complex numbers, which contain the roots of all nonconstant polynomials and lead to deeper insight into many operators, such as integration.
