I'm getting the I-134 ready for the interview.I read the website from the U.S. Embassy in Manila. It say need last year tax return.I be sure to send past 3(2007,2008,2009).I made only about 7,000 for 2007 and about 13,000 for 2008 & 2009. I started a job that pays 20,160 annaully (over the 120% guideline),but I started only in September, for those years I mostly been a student.I look closely and it say they look at the current amount that you make.Should I worry bout that I did not make enough in the past or am I just stressing myself?I curious if i should worry bout the past amount i made and just prepare a co-sponsor.I plan to switch company in the building I work in but I will need to resign for 1 month. That jobs pay double my current salary. Is it okay that I make over the guidline now or should I worry that not make enough in the past.

As long as you make over the poverty line and have proof (Send as many paystubs as you can, employment letter, bank statements.) You'll be fine. Also, a signed letter explaining why you made that amount in the previous years would be a good idea.

I was really worried since her interview was a week after I started a new job and I didn't send any paystubs. The consulate just asked for 2008 tax return and the I-134 and that's it.

You're mostly stressing it.

Your experience at USEM may not be the same as the OP's!

A co-sponsor is always a good ace in the hole, for a back up remember it’s the 'totality' that counts.

I can offer you some good, recent firsthand experience on this matter. My fiance just had her interview on Jan 19th and she made it on through just fine. At my current job, I make 19,000 a year. I started working there back in August 2009. I make barely over the 125% poverty guideline for 2. I only submitted to them the 2008 tax return papers. For 2008, my income was bad because I was in college, so it only amounted to like 8,000 or so. Also, for the first part 2009 I was just at a part time job because I was still in college.

My suggestion: 2008 taxes are good, but the real focus is getting them ALL of your paystubs from your current job. I sent all my paystubs from September 2009 up until now.

So 2008 taxes and 3 months or more of paystubs is a good way to go. It worked for us. Don't stress too much! Just imagine the burden off your shoulders when she gets that visa.

You make a little more than I do, so you are in better shape than me even. Another important thing is to have good evidence of relationship. The consulates like to see that you actually took the time to write out love letters and send them in the mail. They didn't seem to care about emails as much. I guess they're a bit behind on the times. :)

So you're telling me my opinion is wrong? You have no place to do that.

I told him to get more documents just in case. I told him we stressed it and everything is fine.

Most CO's don't like co-sponsors and will white slip/deny you.

Back off.
