I feel a little stupid for asking this, but i want to be prepared. I am going back to Morocco this friday. Except I will be going from Casa to Oujda another international airport. I thought that you did not have to go through customs till you reach your last fianl international airport. But today a friend told me that when i come into Casa i will have to go through customs and get my bags and recheck them in to get to the my connecting flight. I pretty much told her I did not believe her cuz when I went last time my final destination was casa. But if that was true then all people on my flight would of had to go through customs, but many had connecting flights, and they went past customs. And even though i seen this and know that the last international airport is where you go through customs, i am a little edgy on this and wondering. So any of you all had connecting flights in casa and did you have to go through customs before catching your next flight.

I just want to be prepared, cuz on my way back i only have 50 mins to get to my connecting flight.

I went in march of last year. You will have to go thru customs, get your bags and then go upstairs to recheck them for your next flight. I went from Atl to Paris to Casa to Marrakesh by myself with a baby. Good luck!!

Thanks, I asked in another group and they said they have not ever had to go and claim there bags and recheck it in. That they always went to there connecting flights and and had no problems. Did you go through customs in Merrakesh too??? That is a international airport too.You should only have to go through customs once.

It's no different than in the United States, you go thru customs at your POE. It's different for people who are just transferring to another International flight, but you are staying in Morocco whether in Casa, Marrakesh or where ever. Morocco is your destination country and no matter where you enter, that's where you go thru customs. If you were to fly directly into Marrakesh, then you would go thru customs there, but because you are entering the country in Casa, you will go thru customs in Casa. Like I said, you will have to go thru customs, get your bags (if they arrive) and depending on how much luggage you have, pay someone to roll them upstairs for you to check in for your next flight. Whether that's the way it was in the past or not, that is how it was when I went in March '09.

This is scary, because i was told two different things now. A lady that has been to Morocco 13 times said that she has not ever gone through customs in Casa. That she always did that in Agadir as that was her last international airport and she flew into Casa too. So now i am really confused and I will just ask when i get my boarding passes.

If its on your way back then you dont really need to worry about customs there, its just security checks. you'll go through actual customs in your destination country which would be the US on your return, right?

Yes Sara is right. If it's on your way back you would go through dropping off your bags etc where you started out, your connecting flight wouldn't have you picking up your bags - you would have to get them at your first entry point in the US and go through US customs.
