My Fiancee and I would like to go on a cruise to Mexico after we get married... I would not have a green card only my K1 visa, passport and state id. Am I okay to make this trip or do I need green card?

I-129 sent to USCIS - 07-09-2009

Check cashed- 07-17-2009

NOA1 received -07-29-2009

No, as soon as you enter international waters, you've left the US. To return, you would need an AP or GC in hand. Bad decision.

You need to ask for "Advance Parole" to be able to do that safely.

The problem is not going out of the US but getting back in without a green card.

You might want to read the AOS GUIDE which also refers to Advance Parole for traveling while waiting adjustment of status.
