I only know in regards to AOS from K1, including EAD and AP. This thread has the whole list of documents: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=235331

These two things I didn't think were needed, they're not for K1 but maybe for you.. though I can't see where in the instructions...

• Copy of U.S. Citizen birth certificate

• G-325A U.S. Citizen

The list looks complete - but -

focus a bit on the I-130 - the instructions about giving proof for bonafide marriage - I think you should make / prepare additional proof. There's 6 'types' in the instructions - you have some time to make some more proof.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I agree with the poster above. Proof of bonafide marriage is very important. Being newly married, it's possible that you don't have much with you, but if you can, provide copies of the following:

-documents showing co-mingling of finances e.g bank statements of joint accounts, etc.

-health/life insurance documents/evidence showing you made your spouse a beneficiary or vice versa

- photographs documenting relationship - - assuming you've known each other for quite sometime - - preferably photos with friends.

There are other documents you can present. I'm sure they've listed it somewhere here in VJ. take note of those and if you can provide USCIS with a copy, then do so.

Can someone verify this?

We just send ours in...and did not send the USC G325a or birth certificate. I did not see it on the VJ Guide

When you adjust status from a K1 entry, you do NOT need to include the US citizen's birth certificate or G-325A. The USC already provided those with their I-129F petition (which you will recall was in the USC's name, not the beneficiary's, as the AOS is).

Since the I-130 (as I understand it) is the initial petition filed by the USC and plays the same role in the process that the I-129 does for the the K1, it is filed by the USC and therefore it needs proof of citizenship and a G-325A for the USC. Can anyone confirm?

DON'T PANIC

The OP DID include the documents for the I-130 as they are required for that one, but they aren't needed for the AOS packet. The main reason being, the USC is irrelevant in the AOS process except for support reasons. The alien is the one petitioning for AOS based on the I-130 where the USC's information is.
