No problem with abstinence - but I think its highly dubious to suggest that a one-size fits all abstinence-only approach to sex-ed is the right fit for everyone.

You have to give people access to all the information they need to make informed decisions. To do otherwise is criminally negligent IMO.

People also forget that we are talking about kids here. To think that a 13 to 16 year old knows what is best, is laughable.

At the end of the day, it's ridiculous that schools have been forced to take place of parents.

Kids have sex - its a reality of the world we live in. Would you rather they do it in ignorance of the risks?

Sex-ed is conducted in schools to ensure that all kids have access to the same information - and frankly, some people aren't comfortable talking about sex with their kids.

My biggest regret in life is that I waited so late to have sex. If only I had discovered the pleasures sooner!

Well I hope you intercede that your Daughters don't make that same mistake.

Sex for teens has been put on some sort of moronic pedestal. A hell of a lot of kids also bullshit that they are having sex because of peer pressure. What kids need to realize is that just because you are having sex, does not mean you are the man. Girls also need to realize that when a guy at 13 says he loves you, laugh in his face. Kids also don't seem to grasp the cost of raising a child, so to them it's some sort of joke.

I caught my 13 year old nephew out writing garbage to his 17th g/f for the year the other week. Trying to be romantic and all. Put it his way, I'd hate to be those girls fathers.

Nothing you have written above is a cogent argument against sex-education. If anything, it suggests why it is necessary.

Sex education is necessary but I am more interested to know what is being taught. I don't want kids, as they are kids, to be taught how to give the ideal BJ..

I'm not against sex education in schools, but I still believe that all of this should start at home. Parents need to be parents again. Kids should be learning their morals and values at home first so that when they are exposed to the real world they will be better equipped to make good choices.

I had to laugh when I read about a growing trend of parents giving their teens ####### jobs for their b'days. How more moronic can people be?
