But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I'm totally pro-breastfeeding, but discreetly. Even though it doesn't make me uncomfortable to see a Mom breastfeeding openly, I know it does offend some people, so I was always considerate of that.

My sister-in-law breastfed her daughter until she was 4, due to severe allergies to almost all foods, but it still seemed weird to see her running in the house yelling, "Tootie, Mommy, Tootie!!!".

As soon as children can eat a variety of solid foods, it's time to drop the breastfeeding, in my opinion.

OMG! As a nurse I've seen it all! Once this mother was in the clinic with her 5 years old son and her 1 year old daughter they had just adopted from China. I go into the exam room and I look at the 5 year old thinking "Geez....what is he doing? He looks uncomfortable." Well she was nursing him! I did what I had to do and went to get the doctor. When we came back in she was finishing off with her daughter on the same breast! Freaked me out to see the 5 year old nursing then to she the daughter on the same breast! Just weird to me.

I stopped nursing my kids when they were old enough to know where dinner came from. When my son was 3 months old, I was holding him and he grabbed my boobs and smiled....DONE! My daughter was about 6 months when she would start playing her biting games...DONE!

I nursed both my kids until they were over a year, my youngest refused a bottle. He was weaned from the breast straight to a cup. n my opinion 2 is excessive, but that is my opinion, La Leche leaguers would disagree with me. In some peoples opinion breast feeding in and of itself is 'yucky' *shrug* what are they there for then? Some people dont have a problem in public because it isnt anything abnormal to them, its feeding time, nothing more. Its society who has put restrictions on it by sexualizing the breast....personally I alwyas threw a recieving blanket over my shoulder if I was in public. I remember one time being asked to go feed my son in the bathroom...I was like, would YOU eat your dinner in a bathroom??? Geez he was covered!!!! The only way the person who asked me knew I was feeding was they asked to peek at the baby and I told her to wait until he was done. Then on the other end, I had in laws who had never seen anyone breast feed, and one aunt actually asked if she could watch, she was sooo fascinated by the whole process. weird, she had kids of her own but no one in her family or social circle breast fed!

Really its no ones business expect the mothers as to age, or 'modesty'.

My best friend got 'put off' breastfeeding when they're getting around 2 because of something she saw once in a restaurant.

There was a very insistant toddler (perhaps also 2 years old) pulling on her mom's skirt saying 'Titty, mama - titty!!'

If they're old enough to say that, then they're too old to be breastfed.

Just my .02. :)

You are sooooo right-if they are old enough to ask for it-they are to old to get it!

This reminds me of a sex and the city episode when Carrie & Miranda were at a baby shower & they were commenting that there was a kid breastfeeding that was old enough to chew steak!

I thought that was pretty funny

Hey.

So yesterday a mom came in my office with her two children, her 14 year old son and her....at least...2 year old son. I mean I would say he was 2. He was running around and talking...

So, she is talking to me, and mid sentence, scooops up her son, ups her shirt, takes out her breast and starts breast feeding her 2 year old son without missing a beat.

1. Is that not a bit weird?

2. Is that not a bit OLD to be breast feeding?

Not a mom yet, so I really don't know...but I felt akward to be honest. I mean...she wasn't even trying to be discreet about it!

my bestfriend did this alot longer than age 2. it used to bugg the hell out of me.

because, the boy had TEETH -he would walk up to her and lift her shirt.

what I hate WORSE is when people feed their kids in public at the dinner table.

that chit pissses me off. i dont want my husband seeing some chicks #######!

The only comment I have about this thread is how disgusting it is to me that someone taught their toddler to say "tittie."

That was also pretty disturbing to my friend when she heard it (and to me when she told me about it)! I mean #######??? Unless she just 'heard' it somewhere and figured it out on her own, I dunno. Either way it was disturbing!

I agree that a mother has the right to breast feed in public but I also have the right to not see her boobs.

What about seeing man boobs? ####### for tat, I say. ;)

especially not man-boobs... :no::blink::no::huh::no::wacko:
