Can AOS and EAD be sent separate?

Can EAD be filed separate from the AOS? Or do they have to be filed together?

Yes, but if you send the EAD first you'll need to pay the fee of $300 odd dollars.

If you send the AOS first, just make sure that when you send in your EAD you include the AOS NOA1 copy or receipt number and you will not have to pay the EAD fee.

So my advice is if you were thinking of doing the EAD first, don't as you will have to pay the fee.

hmmmm....we have til June 2011 to finish AOS from the k3..would be nice if he could work and then file AOS. So it IS possible to file EAD (pay that fee) ~~then in 6 months or so pay the $1010 and finish AOS? *fingers crossed this is an option.

Those can be filled separatelly, but is no sense to send them that way, uless you don't want to "slow down" the AOS process...Use USCIS lockbox Chicago and fill them concurently.

We HAVE the fee for the EAD~~ the $1010 we do not. Thought was for him to get EAD card, start working and save for the AOS.
