NVC Seem to have forgotten about us.

Hi I have a question for all of you who have gone this way and know more than us.

It seems that everything takes longer than average for us.

We sent for I130 in April of '09. Everyone else seemed to get their approved in about 4 months but our took like 7. We finally got approval notice on Dec. 07. '09.

And nothing since. Not a word from NVC.

We tried calling the toll free # but after punching in out case # automated voice told us to wait and that we will be notified and that no further info was available. We ware not able to get to a live person since there was no option for that. It just keeps revolving and going back to the same message.

My question is what is the average time for NVC response and if anyone else had been going trough this recently to give us some advice as for what to do if anything is possible to speed this up. Also any tips for handling NVC paperwork for hopefully smooth journey. And any help with Montreal consulate procedure would be very helpful. We did not hire a lawyer so any help will be greatly appreciated.

No information is available about K visa cases through the NVC automated system. You'll need to speak to a human, get a DOS Consulate specific case number and then call the DOS visa information line for status. I expect your case is already at the Consulate.

Thanks for your reply. I can only hope that my papers have made it to Montreal consulate but I doubt it since we have not received a thing from NVC only a I130 notice of approval. We have not filed any NVC paperwork nor paid any fees since we ware never contacted by them. That's why I'm worried since they have not sent any paperwork and it has been almost two months now since we got approved for I130.
