We were about 2800 miles apart, or about 9 hours by plane. Now we are in the same room. I love it so much, I missed being with him with all my heart and now that I'm here everything feels so right.

Kitchener to Lloyd Harbor NY (it is in Long Island).

I typically fly or take the $1 bus one way and fly home.

It works out to about 9 hours in the car or an hour and half flight.

In just 2 short months we should be in the same house - or should I say closet. LOL Have to love shopping for real estate in NYC.

Well, I'd just rather be WAY overprepared than just a little UNDERprepared. I'm surely going to have far more stuff than the consular officer is going to want...but I'd prefer it that way than the alternative!

I brought LOTS of information to prove relationship, and she didn't look at any... Well, the top picture of the little stack I had, and that's it.

I have faith in you. You're going to be fine. :) I think a real main key is to be confident, but not over confident. Bring all documents you need, ( slightly some different proof than K-1 I know), and relax.

OOOOPS Slightly OT from the original thread! Sorry..

Now..back to the polls....

Bevie lives in Springhill, NS and will be joining me in Hillsboro, Oregon for marital bliss sometime this year (c'mon Montreal... schedule us already!!!).

According to Google Maps we are:

  • 3502 miles (5636km) if walking (including 3 ferry rides) and it should take me 43 days and 17 hours by Nike. =)

  • 3718 miles (5984km) by auto and it should take 58 hrs each way when we drive there and back this summer.

  • 3047 aeronautical miles (4904km), 4 time zones, and 13 hrs and 14minutes (not including driving to and from airports) if Continental departs and arrives on schedule.

Outside of the couple where the hubby is in Kuwait at the moment... do we get a prize for longest distance US/CDN relationship in the lower 48 States?

By geographical dumb luck, we had both the CSC and the Montreal Consulate in our approval loop -- meaning the longest wait times.

8 hours by car, only an hour by plane. We were pretty lucky. No complaints here!

Same here. He was living near Toronto and I'm about an hour away from Philadelphia, PA, so 8 hours. We drove most of the time. If I found a good fare, I would fly, but out of all the trips we have taken 99% of them were driven. He never once flew here.

I'm catching a ride up to Toronto this weekend with a friend of mine for a lacrosse game and after 31 long days apart, I will see my hubby again! We are having a stop over for a night in Buffalo on Saturday and we will be back home in PA on Sunday for 2 weeks until he drives up to Montreal for his medical and interview.

1,500 miles or about 2,500 kms from Welland, ON to the southern part of the Denver metro. Flying was basically a must. We drove it once when I was moving and we're very glad we would never need to attempt it again! It was pretty painful.

It was far, absolutely, but there are lots of people here on VJ who have it a lot harder than we did, so I don't feel like I have much room to complain.

When we first met he was living in Charlotte, NC, a short 1,200 kms from each other. We thought we had it rough... then he moved to Denver. It put everything into a better perspective. We were thankful for that year we could just get in a car and drive 10 hours to be together.

Right now, about three feet. :)

Normally, though, we're about the same as you guys when you first met - he's even in Charlotte, NC (which, btw, I think is beautiful area) and I'm from Cambridge, ON.

Just under 800 miles or so, 12 hour drive on average.

That's lovely ZansGirl. Did you write that?

Gene was 1970 kms away from me when we met. Of course I'm living here now in St. Louis now. Even a few hours distance would have been too far.

Mine was less then an hour away when we met. I lived in Colorado Springs and she lived in Denver and would come down or I'd go up there on Fri to Sundays.

Then we got married and lived in Denver, now that we're officially divorced she's a few miles away from me now, but sometimes we run into each other and yap if I go to this one club she frequents. We some friends/aquaintences still in common, but haven't seen her since probably November now...

Before she moved, Peachey was about 700 miles away.

I made the drive in 11.5 hours once, usually it was much closer to 13.

Montreal Interviewer: "What do you have in common with each other?"

Peachey: "We're REALLY weird."

Montreal Interviewer (incredulously to me): "Do you agree with that?"

<I think back to several days before the interview. Driving through the country, passing a field with cows...>

Peachey: "MOOOO! MOOOOO! Does this make me weird?"

Me: "No, well yes. Here, let me roll down the windows so they can hear you better!"

Peachey: "MOOOOO!!!!"

<back to interview>

Me: "Yes, yes I do."

1,256 miles from Dallas, TX to Sarnia, ON. I must admit I've not had to drive it (yet) but the flight is pretty simple (3hrs).
