After getting married last Tuesday (ohhh, the married life!), I've finally took the next step to actually look & go through what I need to get my AOS sent out. I had my medical exam a few months back (I wrote a review about my experience at Woking Clinic HERE), and only went in with the first HPV shot. To those that filled out the AOS previously before me -- is it required that I get the two other shots? I really (REALLY, REALLY!) don't want to (my shot was pretty traumatic -- I had chills & my arm was numb for a few days) and I'm hoping that I don't have to since I am still 26. What's say you? Is it required?

Let me know... thanks!

Hi! The HPV vaccine is no longer required for the I-693!

Updates:

1. Vaccinations: Starting on December 14, 2009, immunization against the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) and herpes zoster (zoster) will no longer be required. 74 Fed. Reg. 58634 (Nov. 13, 2009). Civil Surgeons who complete Form I-693 vaccination chart, Part 2.5 of Form I-693, should either:

* write "no longer required" in the entries for Human Papillomavirus" and "Zoster," OR

* leave these entries blank.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY, another HPV thread.

It is no longer a requirement for the immigration purposes. When you go to a civil surgeon to get your vaccine sheet transcribed onto an I-693, they shouldn't require it. However, if they do, you have two options. You can take a copy of the CDC announcement with you Source. But more than likely, they will just look at the sheet and not even ask you about it. They really could only force you to get the first one in the past.
