Hi everyone,

I was wondering- My husband will be traveling on Thursday Feb 4,- POE will be New York (JFK) FINAL Destination Miami Florida, now my question is....

Does he give the envelope to the customs officer in NY? or at the Final Destination -Miami Florida???

I am confused about this  , and posted on the MENA site because my husband is coming from Morocco!!

I Thank you all for your answers in advance..

Yep- deplane in JFK and proceed to CBP. Will give "envelope" and passport to BP officer. BP officer will open the "envelope" and look through it. May ask a few or many questions (in our case just a few). He will check fingerprints and take photo. If all is good then he will stamp passport and your honey will go to collect luggage. Then pass through customs where they will ask some more questions. If all is good - continue on to recheck luggage and get domestic flight. Sometimes they may pull aside for further processing - luggage check.

It should be a pretty painless process, unless they see something they dont like.

At least that is how it went for us in Detroit. Good Luck and Best Wishes!

Yup! The CBP will take the visa packet/envelope at the POE. =)

My POE was Detroit, MI - final destination, Lansing, MI and didn't have to go through any other inspection - just baggage claim. ^_^
